CAG Discovery Month - October

This event, the CAG Discovery Month, will honor those who take the challenge of discovery. The basis of determining "winners" will be more for their adventures, and post event write up, than what they catch. Where and how they fish, in regards to true exploration, is much more important than success. Besides, what you will learn during this event will be the real prize!

When you catch a fish, record its weight on your score card, have the steward witness the weight and ensure that the steward transmits the correct information to the registration desk. At the end of fishing, compare your score card with the board at the registration desk and be sure that all your fish have been accurately recorded. Carp Anglers Group Invitationals: June 23, 2007

We will have on the same day simultaneous fish-ins in multiple regional venues across North America, all following the same rules. This type of event allows CAG members that could not attend Austin (the ATC) or the CCC to participate in an "official CAG event", as well as have an opportunity to invite guests to this national event. (Online Registration Form)

You can find the list of currently planned CAGI venues and corresponding regional organizers on the CAG Web site in the list of CAG fish-ins scheduled for end of June: Fish-Ins Page

You can also contact the CAGI coordinator (Jerome Moisand), who will be happy to redirect you to the appropriate regional organizer and answer any question you might have.

A fee of $10 per angler (CAG member or guest) will be requested. CAG members are exempted from the $10 fee if they come with one guest or more (but guests have to pay their own fee).

Regional awards are based on weights of carp captured in a given regional event:
• Big Fish
• Top 4
• Total Weight

National awards are based on the combined results of all regional events, based on a handicap system to create a reasonable fairness between venues. Juniors will have their own awards category.
• Big Fish (adjusted based on venue handicap)
• Top 4 (adjusted based on venue handicap)
• Total Weight (adjusted based on venue handicap)
• Biggest carp on a Scooby Doo rod (exact weight)
• Biggest carp on a fly (exact weight)

Finally, a special national award will be attributed to the "goofiest" picture.
You will find a complete guide for participants at: CAGI Complete Guide
