Holidays, family events, and other outdoor activities make it tough for an angler to participate in a league that mandates attendance at every event. Consequently, the 2012 J-Town Fall 40's Tournament Series will feature seven separate tournaments. Anglers may fish in all events or pick and choose which events he/she would like to attend.
Because this is a fall event and because fishing can be "peggy" at Bicentennial Park, tournaments will vary in regard to how winners are determined.
Sept. 22, 2012 - "Welcome to Fall" Big 8 Tournament
Oct. 13, 2012 - "Autumn Colors" Total Weight Tournament
Oct. 27, 2012 - "Happy Halloween" Big 6 Tournament
Nov. 10, 2012 - "Election Month" Big 4 Tournament
Nov. 24, 2012 - "Turkey Trot" Total Weight Tournament
Dec. 1, 2012 - "Let It Snow" Big 3 Tournament
Dec. 15, 2012 - "Merry Christmas" Total Weight Tournament
Peg choice for each session will be conducted at Bicentennial Park (South) in Joliet, Illinois. The peg draw will be EXACTLY one half (1/2) hour before the start of fishing. Peg draw is at 6:30 AM. Fishing begins at 7:00 AM . Fishing ends at 5:00 PM (4:30 PM at December sessions). Pegs/flags shall be about 10-20 yards apart and will be staked out by the league official(s) and numbered PRIOR TO CHOOSING PEGS. Due tothe shorter time of daylight, December sessions will end one-half hour earlier.
For 2012, North Bicentennial Park and South Bicentennial Park will be pegged to accommodate as many as 16 anglers (eight on each side of the park).
Each tournament will feature a walk-off random peg draw. At all sessions at 6:30 a.m., anglers, who are present and who have paid their $20 entry, will be part of a drawing to determine peg choice. First name drawn will have first choice of pegs. Second name drawn will have second choice. This process will continue until all the names of physically present anglers are drawn and pegs are chosen. Anglers arriving after 6:30 a.m. will draw to determine choice of whatever pegs remain. There are no call-in peg choices. "You snooze, you lose."
