Welcome to the Carp Anglers Group Illinois section Thanks for stopping by. This is where it all began, this is Carp Central. Birth place of the Carp Anglers Group and Home of the Chicago Carp Classic one of the Nations largest re-occurring carp fishing events. It is also home to one of the largest populations of avid carp fishermen in the U.S.. There are events that happen almost every weekend here.....summer and winter..... we are hard core, But a friendlier bunch you won't find anywhere else. Illinois has many active local carp clubs, carp leagues, carp derbies and more carp tackle shops than you may have ever imagined and with Chicago...it is truly a Carp Fishing Melting Pot. From Euro-style carp fishing, River Fishing, Match style fishing and even some pay-lakin', you'll find it here in Illinois, or very close by. Illinois State Chairs Bill Hodge, Paul Wells and Larry Kirchner would like to offer any help we can in getting you on the way to a fun and productive carp fishing experience and any thing we can do to help is here for the asking. From getting started to pro-level tournament experience you will find it here and we will do our best to help guide you every step of the way. The best part of being a CAG member in Illinois is that you will become part of a very big and loyal family. And as family you'll know that members, bait and tackle supporters and our friends here and in the surrounding states will do what we can to get the information you need and to welcome you in.

The Carp Anglers Group is a clearing house of all information carp, but more than that it is a group of like minded people who all enjoy fishing for carp for fun and the social aspect of a local fishing club. From guys getting together for a day out, to State socials known as "Fish-Ins", and National Events you will find almost everything here so if you have a question ask away.
