    Hi,

    I am a brand new member of CAG; just started carp fishing the end of June and have been very successful. I have started assembling the equipment (proper net, unhooking matt, sling, etc. and tying my own hair rigs. I noted some contests sponsored by CAG, but don't see registration for a Fall 2016 Big 4 CAG event- is there one? I may submit a discovery month article, but Im not familiar with all the proper terms used, i.e. what is a "swim", a "run", etc......I can be a big promoter of CAG; I am very impressed with the level of expertise, care and professionalism demonstrated by the members. Any additional information you can provide would be appreciated!....thanks!   Kirk

      I don't know which is bigger- the smile or the fish!  Welcome to CAG.  You realize that your spare time and any extra funds will be spent on pursuing the world's greatest sportfish.  Kirk, thanks for the kind words about CAG and its members.  If only others could understand what carping is all about, there would be a different attitude toward carp and more people joining us.

      Don't be afraid to ask questions.  Go back and look at other threads on the forum.  Read the back issues of the NACA magazine on the forum.  You will find lots of good information on the forum.  However, be aware that there is no cure for the madness. :bonk:

    Hi JD can you send me the actual number of CAG members at the moment. The names would be great But I do need the total number of members. It seems a lot of members aren't receiving the newsletter. The whole purpose was to keep those members who do not go on the forum or website but are still members Just what's happening with CAG.       Willem has done an excellent job in getting the list to the printer in time for the printing and mailing.  My idea was to have a backup if needed somewhere along the line.

      Same for me.  Is there any way I can have access to the list to forward to the printer?  We need the list to the printer two weeks before mailing; mailing is about a week before the first of the following month.  If members don't go the the forum, they will obviously not be aware of the newsletter and can't tell us they aren't receiving the NL.  Plus, it would be hard to know if the member info is correct if they don't check it.  Would Facebook an option for spreading the word?

      Any and all ideas are welcome.
