  1. Hope you enjoy a few highlights from a couple of carp fishing socials we hosted this year for Team CarpQuest. The first, at the Fairgrounds, was tough with only a couple of carp caught. The second, at Chatfield Reservoir, was total madness. Over twenty carp were landed, including new PB mirror for CAG's Mark Caldwell ! CAG"s Mark Demrovsky also appears in this episode. John CarpQuest
  2. After another month of computer issues, editing s/w updates, corrupted templates, I was FINALLY able to get another episode edited and released. So, it's time to sit back, grab an extra HUGE mug of java and watch the show. https://youtu.be/nv1CQwVaGnI An overnight session at Chatfield Reservoir resulted in many common and mirror carp for me, including a great mid 20s mirror just after midnight. James caught consistently throughout the night with some good fish banked. Hope you Enjoy! John CarpQuest
  3. What an epic days fishing at Chatfield with my friends, Ron and Bob. Both landed their new PB common carp, Ron with a 24 lb'er and Bob with a 22.5 lb'er. I added a few more to our days tally including a nice mirror towards the end of the session. Hope you Enjoy !
  4. Crazy hot weather and carp fishing action on Memorial Day weekend. I pushed the scales close to 30 lb's a couple of times with some mighty Chatfield Reservoir common carp. Scopex Squid doing the job paired with Trokar Magnum curved shank hooks. An insane session with over twenty carp landed. A new PB mirror was landed for Bob Crook and an almost twenty pound common for James. Hope you enjoy our latest episode! Tight-Lines, John CarpQuest
  5. Multiple mugs of coffee cannot prepare you for this insane session from a few weeks ago. With my usual spots taken I setup on the east shore of the main reservoir facing out into the wide open water. What a crazy session followed, with four carp in the 20's landed, a handful of fish in the mid teens and finally a new PB mirror. What a great afternoon's carp fishing! Hope you enjoy. <teaser: the new PB mirror carp only lasted a week, landed an even bigger one the next session!> Hope you Enjoy ! John CarpQuest
  6. Carp fishing in fall can be both challenging and very rewarding. In this weeks new episode of CarpQuest we fish an afternoon session at the fairgrounds and land several great looking common carp. I also discuss the important difference between "Victory Coffee" and "Proactive Victory Coffee". One tastes better than the other, but both will do in a pinch. Hope you enjoy !
  7. Well, it's been a long tough fall, the victory coffee could not keep me from being sick for a month and out of work. Finally back on my feet and found the time to put together a new episode of CarpQuest. So, it's time to break out your java, heat up the water, grab a huge mug, sit back and enjoy our latest episode. In this session I travel up to northern Colorado and fished with two anglers new to carp fishing, Ryan and Bleu. It's one of the things I love about CarpQuest, the opportunity it provides me to meet so many passionate anglers. It was a great day, good conversation, lots of commons in the net and finally a new PB grass carp for me landed. What an amazing session. Both Ryan and Bleu continued with their carp fishing, with Bleu winning the TLO Carp Tournament at the end of this year, and Ryan placing in the previous one. What a great couple of guys, passionate and dedicated to their fishing. Hope you enjoy ! John CarpQuest
  8. Just in time for the eclipse, before the world's end, it's time to refill your mug, put up your feet, sit back and enjoy our latest episode ! A busy work schedule had too long kept me from the water. Finally we managed to get out and put in a couple of sessions at the Fairgrounds. With the clear skies, burning temperatures, it was always going to be tough fishing. Yet we stuck it out and managed to land a few nice fish. Victory Coffee, tastes as good ever ! Hope you Enjoy ! John
  9. Well, it's not been too long, your coffee pot is likely still warm, so sit back, pour yourself a hot mug of java and enjoy our latest episode. With our recent success fishing overnight we returned to Chatfield for another session. Over confident from our previous trip we setup in the rain and wind, anticipating many catches. A few catfish graced the net, including a big fat channel cat. We did land some baby carp and finally a few nice low doubles. Tough night, but still fun. Victory Coffee is not just for carp, any great catch is worthy of a mug! Hope you enjoy ! Tight-Lines, John CarpQuest
  10. Well carp fans, it's been way too long with the mug sat empty. So it's time once again to put on the coffee pot, rinse off the mug and prepare to watch another episode. In this week’s new episode of CarpQuest we fish an overnight session at Chatfield Reservoir. With daytime temps pushing 100F, the bite slow, this could be our best change to get some fish on the mat. Hope you enjoy ! John CarpQuest
  11. HERE WE GO AGAIN ! Season 5 is off and running ... Get your coffee cups out (this is a two cup session), fill with hot java, and sit back and watch the show ! In this weeks opening episode of CarpQuest Season 5, we look back at the great time I spent with my brother when he visited last summer. We had some excellent carp fishing adventures, a dawn sunrise at the top of Pikes Peak and some night photography. We hope you enjoy! Tight-Lines, John CarpQuest
  12. In this weeks episode we get in a late fall session with Jeremy Romero from Born to Fish Media. Our mission for the day, to see if we could help him catch a few late fall fish, always a challenging time for carp fishing here in Colorado. Hope you Enjoy! Tight-Lines, John
  13. In this weeks episode, on a bright sunny afternoon my wife and I made the drive up to the fairgrounds for a picnic. I got the rods out, the lines in and was rewarded with several nice common carp up to 21 lb's. Is there a better way to spend an afternoon with family ? Tight-Lines, John
  14. Good afternoon. I'm sorry if I write the wrong topic. My name is Yuri. I live in Ukraine, in Kiev want to share with you the records of carp. So I decided to open a carp season. We decided to go on Sunday, although the weather did not please us. Well decided done. At 3:00 departure. At the site where it was 4:15. Otlovochnye logged discharged. Thank you for Glory picked up for us pavements, and for being advised to focus on the fishing float rod. While I was gathering, gender-under and spinning tackle, Eugene took the bait, and I have not had time to collect even one spinning at Eugene because he was sleepy, little fishing rod is not to conquer the vastness of the lake with carp fish on the hook. But nothing happened, carp landing net, Jack is happy, because this is his first carp fished in his life, his joy knew no bounds. So far I have set up spinning Jack had already caught 3. Well, that's my povlavchanka went into battle. Neproshlo and 5 minutes, and carp in the landing net. Active nibble rocked our biceps to 7 am, and that's all the bait, spinning weird, but remained silent. The weather began to change, and nibble gently subsided. Closer to 10:30 good bite my godfather, and something worthy of coming off. After a couple of minutes on a spinning standing still in the morning, abandoned somewhere near the center of the lake, which is like a locomotive to haul well-read, good carp reel, throws off the thread, and egegey sweeps that began the struggle of decent size, but just 20 seconds and the converging .... damn .... It was the last bite. Then it started to rain, wind ... just like on the hydrometeorological forecast. I note that the neighbors on the pavement caught trophy pike, weight can not say because it does not weighed, but she looked good (video attached). We were very happy fishing. Rest of the soul.
