Neil's beautiful black buffalo caught Saturday in Eagle Mountain Lake here in Texas. First one I've ever seen in person.

Note the avatar- that is my best freshwater fish. Now you have infected me with the desire to go fishing. The TN records for buffalo are: smallmouth- 62-7; bigmouth- 62-0; black- 55-8.

Here's a "well-worn" buffalo at 26 pounds from Emma Long here in Texas. Note the tail fin. That had to smart.

Wow guys these are some real beasts - unfortunately my biggest Buffalos to date have been all foul hooked - I have had some under 10 lbs legally smacking flies, cranks and twisters, but since the areas I Carp fish are not popular Buffalo areas I have not managed yet my hopes lie in Lake Wisconsin Next!

Catch and release!

P.S. Sorry for the Gill hold. It was almost a life/death type of situation - I am most certain the Behemoth lived on! After all I am no bow fisherman or a "self alleged conservationist" who eradicates all Carp on sight as I see common practice in Wisconsin. For some it is a livelihood so I understand them:
