You might want to re think this Brid.

These pics were taken from the campsite at the end of Road 11 earlier today.

I dont think there will be much chance of catching any Carp at this venue on a weekend

The 2008 CA CAGI seemed to work out OK at that location: http://www.carpanglersgroup.com/forum/inde...showtopic=30135

Oh and Toes, there were no where near that many people there last year or earlier this year (in fact we saw only two other groups in the water) when Kristi, Adam and i fished the same spot you were taking pictures from.

Ralph - as has already been pointed out-- this was a big holiday weekend. Last year, we had all the "point" to ourselves, with no hassles.

Road 11 is NOT open to the big RV's - unlike all the others, and is designated "primitive camping".

As mentioned in another thread about the event, it is a "first come - first served" venue - so, the earlier you get there - the better the chance of securing a choice spot.

If things follow the usual pattern for that time of year, a lot of "weekend" folks don't show up until Friday evening -- especially those that have kids in school.

We (and Kristi & Keith) will be there on Thursday afternoon, to get things set up.

I have talked to the Head Ranger about being able to "rope off" the area we are going to fish - but, it is sort of against their regulations and ground rules. However -- if we had more people officially signed up - he might slightly "bend" the rules. As of today, there are (to the best of my knowledge) around a dozen "definite's" and around 4 more talking about attending. If we can get around 20 "definite's" I can talk to the Ranger again. Some of the "yea's" can't be there until Friday evening, and unless we can put an honest show of hands up, it might be difficult to guarantee everyone get's to fish together.

The event has been extensively advertised in the local media, as well as with fliers, so - there is a good possibility we might get a very favorable response from the general public, which means there could very well be several "on the day" attendees. The other possibility is we might well get people already camping/fishing at the venue signing up.

Cheers,

Brid.
