I am posting this in the "Beginning Carping" section because no one has done more for the beginners than Bud Yancey. founder and first president of the Carp Anglers Group.

He passed away peacefully this afternoon.

One of the nicest and most generous people I have meet. Just about everything I do now, both personal and professional, is because I meet Bud on the bank of the Chicago River many years ago. He got me back into fishing and that led to my current career.

We all have a profound debt to him.

I owe a lot to him. WE all owe a lot to him.
CAG was what it was truly meant to be with him at the helm.
Carping was truly as it should be when you fished with him on the bank.
My deepest condolenses.

Sad news, I wished his family the best from CAG through his daughter. I'll post any information if it's provided to me.

Sad news for sure. I only met Bud once as well, my first CCC, he was eager to talk to me and you could quickly see that his passion for carping and the people he met along the way were high on his list.

I almost bought a couple of old baitcasters from him at the tackle trading area. I have regretted not buying them ever since.

RIP
