My name is Sean and I was thinking about being A SC. I fish almost every weekend as long is it isnt to cold. I love fishing for carp. I was wanting some input and support for fish-ins and ways to promote our sport. Lake wilhelm Dnr guy has already infromed me and another guy he can get a group of people togther for a seminar to promote carp so.... My local lake is Cross Creek so without a doubt that would be a fish in. I have a couple other lakes in mind also. I would at least have 3 events. So my question is how much support would I have and is it worth it? My wife is a great cook too so there would be good food.

Sean there is always support for this. I did a fish in a few years back and had around 20-30 guys come to it. Bringing food is only an added bonus. I brought drinks for everyone since it was a hot day. Promoting the sport is always good and it also allows you to have a partnership with the local wardens because they appreciate when anglers do stuff like this. I am not sure who you ask now but cag gave me nacas and brochures for cag to hand out that were nicely recieved and I handed out every single one. Steve Lojek (sp?) used to be the former chair and basically its like what you do now but you are obligated to 2 fish ins a year. Its a good way to get guys fishing together and showing new guys as well.
I will help you in any way I can. Honestly I would love to be chair again now that I stepped down as president, but I want some new blood with a new perspective to get in the mix, so I have been holding off. If you go for it, I'll have your back in every way
