“The evening was everything I hoped it would be & more. 28 Georgia Carp anglers and friends met together tonight to enjoy some great BBQ, each other’s company and to honor a few of our very own.
It was truly the Who’s Who of Georgia Carpers. Many of you will recognize the following four. They are, without a doubt, four of the best Carp Fishermen anywhere! From L-R are Pete “Cornbread” Ellis, “Bartow Ben” Blevins, David “Double D” Dodway and Chris “Rippin” Carden!”

But that gathering is in the books!! This year we will be meeting once again at Wallace BBQ http://www.wallacebarbecue.com/ in beautiful downtown Austell, Ga. Several items other than BBQ and Brunswick stew will also be on the menu. For example, we will spend some time reflecting on the old year and discussing plans and making goals for the new year as well.
The highlight of the evening will be when we recognize one of our very own for his back to back victories in our Four on the Floor Contest!!! There is a CAG rumor in the wind that a certain VIP Master of Ceremonies will be coming into town to personally present this much sought after award to its humble, low key winner. I wish I could divulge more about our special guest here but the Proper Pull down Paparazzi has me walking a fine journalistic line. Before you get too excited folks, please realize that the world famous MC will not be “Maximus Relaximus”. It seems a little unfair because Wallace BBQ allows Corn Dogs, Chili Dogs and Slaw Dogs in the house but unfortunately there is no Carp Hound on the Menu!!!
