Wow,

I just saw the price. Is this for a pair? I paid just over $100.00 US for a pair a few years back. On the Gardner website they list retail for @57 pound a piece. Seems the Royal price is quite elevated?

-Mike/CT

The pair I had years ago were very quiet. Too quiet for me.

Reminds me now that I sold them to Quid and he hasn't yet paid for them.

I just got my Gardner alarm from Specialist Tackle. Total cost for alarm and two Fox blue betalights with shipping was 58 pounds. Even at $2.00/pound that would translate to $116.00. Thanks, Specialist Tackle.

I saw a bunch of items on their website that can be bought cheaper in the UK..even with the shipping cost.

Looks like another carp tackle shop in the USA with high prices! :D

IM surprised Fran remembered that long ago, he's elderly.  He hasnt forgotten how to bust balls though..

  Sean, shifty? meouww...?

Scotty me boy:

Just did a buy at Specialist Tackle for 2 of the alarms and it works out to $87 each delivered. Royal @ $150 each is a bit out of touch. You should tell your Captain.

You failed to read Kev's fine print. The event doesn't start until May 1st. looks like Kev has fallen off the face of the earth. We're still walking on the water here in W-Mass.

In reference to Next week-ends event the "GCO" .....

To inform you in case you have a few extra coins, cash only, as It takes a person of Polish origin to learn that all those buyers are bla-bla-bla.

I'll be bringing a few items for sale. 12ft 3pc carp rods, $50/one, $90/two, $100 all 3... The last one needs

work on 1 guide. Bought to outfit a son-in-law but it was not to be.

Hats, $1 to ($5 french team item)($8 CAG official item).... Catapults $1 to $5.. Spare elastic available... Boilie rolling table, February Carpworld $5, :D:D:D etc.

See you there:

I too like the corn pellets. I had a nice fish out of Montrose Harbor right after the ATC. I just bought a few bags for the upcoming ATC and decided to try 'em out. My biggest fish of the session came to a Mainline boilie fished over a pva bag of Royal Carp's corn pellets.

I opened the bag of Royal "scopex" boilies. I agree that they don't smell very scopex like. There seems to be a strong note of cinnamon mixed in. Heck they will likely still catch fish, I just don't think they smell much like scopex.

Grades:

Corn pellets: A

Scopex boilies: To Be Determined

Fran - I would just like to say that as team field testing captain I have no say in prices, I do not get a cut of preofits and have no shares or any other motivation to make people buy Royal.

Therefore telling Scott to tell me is a very ineffective way of complaining about anything, why do you not email Alex at the web site and let him know, I know I have along with others.

  • 2 weeks later...
Shawn - The sales are local (Georgia) and they will be supplying prizes of bait to the ATC, CCC and CAGI. Glad to hear that you had success with the baits.

More sponsors for the FFF 2005 would also be welcome, Keith... :D

It would actually be quite nice to have one prize per sponsor for each award... :D

Keith, did you speak with Alex about this idea?
