No sunrise pic for me.

However, bigbird was kind enough to welcome me to Florida carping with an impressive mid-afternoon moonrise when Horace, James and I rolled up on New Year's Eve. ;)

Sunrise over Lake Mineral Wells here in Texas on New Years morning. Temperature about 28 degrees with practically no wind. Not like the next morning, when it was about 500 degrees below zero. Okay, actually 19 or 20, but inside a screened-in cabin with nothing to stop the wind, it felt like 500 below. Had a propane blower that looked like a jet engine running, and you couldn't feel it 4 feet away. Neil and I are lucky to be alive... When can we do it again?

Another sunrise picture I took on New Years day, this time with Neil's rod pod in foreground. Lake Mineral Wells, Texas.

Okay, this is actually a sunset picture, but I posted it because it came out nice. Taken Saturday evening at Lake Mineral Wells here in Texas.

I used a Nikon D40X SLR with a 18-55 zoom lens. I pretty much grew up in Colorado with a camera in one hand a a fishing rod in the other. I've always loved taking scenery pics, which really irritates the wife sometimes. I don't have hardly any pics of the wife and kids, but plenty of mountains and aspen trees. This Nikon is one of the few cameras I've used that can take a picture looking directly into the sun without bleaching everything else out.

Glad you liked the pics.
