I know that several people have been having some really good days on Lady Bird in the last week or two although for one reason or another some of those folks are reluctant to post reports. Im not, as you can see from the report from yesterdays outing in the reports section.

Im thinking this year will yield the heaviest overall weight yet! Winning weight will be 330+ lbs. Im also thinking a 40# will take big fish award along with a low 30's buff for that pot. What are your predictions?

The bite is on and we have some world class fishermen fixin to grace our local shores. So here is to a record year! (cheers)

i havent posted any reports cuz I save em for the magazines. The mags don't want reports and pics already seen on the forums. As far as total weight you just never know.

Biggest carp is gonna be a high 30
Biggest buff will be a mid 40

All waters go in cycles for big fish catches! Lets hope that this is a banner year, for a large class of 30+lbs fish. From what I understand the Buff numbers are on the rise too. It would be nice to have two large species of fish fighting over the same baits! B) Keeping all this in mind:

$15.00 per man ,per pool for Big Carp and Big Buff. 100% pay back for each pool :D You need to be in it, to win it!

Texax Z,

That would hurt my feelings! The total weight record is 8 or 9 years old and belongs, in part, to MEEE. It simply cannot be done. Although my partner from that year knows the numbers and I have seen them posted before, but I have no idea (maybe 600+?).

Andrew,

Remember the lake is really part of the Texas Colorado River. I suspect you would have to have the water temperatures in Lake Austin and above to go along with Lady Bird. Just a WAG. I doubt there is much difference from year to year as the volume of water overall in the system is "Texas Size". Really, by accident, it is a very fair test from year to year.

ATX,

As with carp - the record kayak is a "female".

Does anyone happen to have a winning weight number list from all the previous years? Id be interested in seeing how its changed year to year.

Water temps today were in the high 60's, as it was a week ago, after a spell of rather warm temps --- spawning looms PDQ ;)
