Gentlemen,

My wife and I will be in the Niagara Falls area in August and would like to wet a line now and then with a chance for a carp. We cannot climb down to the whirlpool. Any other places to fish on level ground ? The state parks above the falls? Any help would appreciated. Thank you.

My brother in law until recently (GM transferred him to Illinois) lived on the banks of the Niagara River and begged me to come fishing with him but schedules never meshed. He's seen some of our caught carp and said we would be in carp heaven. He fished by boat for multi species but we were gonna look for some bottom-fishing locales. Now he's begging me to come to Illinois to fish with him...

It's like, um...getting paid to carp fish, hike and boat the Chesapeake Bay.
It's a tough job but someone has to do it.

I can't help you with the US side but I can vouch that the fishing is awesome on the upper Niagara on the Canadain side. I catch as early as march. I'm sure with a little scouting you'll be on to fish in no time. The Niagara is a well underated carp fishery in my books. Good luck!

Christopher, please fish the outflow of Hyde Park, aka Gill crk. It's above the falls about a mile, and there's a pull off about 1/10th mile from it going east bound.
