Mulberry Alert

Recommended Posts

The mulberries are just about ripe...give it another few days. If you know of a carp spot that has a mulberry tree near the shore, be on the lookout for some wild feeding action once the berries start dropping. Carp just love mulberries and can't get enough of them. Just freeline on a hook and get ready for some wild action. Mulberry trees are quite common here in RI and many places have them. They are usually white, purple or pink. The biggest mirror carp I have ever caught in RI was taken on a freelined mulberry!

Late here in RI also. Last year I got my first fish on a mulberry on June 6. Still have not been able to find any ripe ones....lots of green ones.
