I a well seasoned Carp angler who has fished for Carp for around 23 years been a syndicate member member of some of the best fisheries in the Uk and fished all over France and have a PB of 50ib.
Are there any of you out there prepared to have me tag along on a few social fishing trips so that I can get the lowdown on the rules etc over here?
My tackle arrived Wednesday so I'm ready and able to go.
I would also love to attempt the FFFHI but don't have a fishing buddy...........anyone fancy spending the day with a bloody Brit lol

markpinner--Lake Geneva, WI is about a two hour drive to Joliet, IL, but you are most welcome to join several of us at the DesPlaines River in Joliet for the 2012 FFF. Let me know, and I'll give you more specific details.--Frank

I, unfortunately, am having rotator cuff surgery tomorrow and will probably have to skip the FFF this year.

Isn't anyone FFFing in Chicago? Nothing against Joliet but we do have a lot of fish and a lot of anglers in Chicago and there should be something going on.
I, unfortunately, am having rotator cuff surgery tomorrow and will probably have to skip the FFF this year.
What? You're letting a little rotator cuff surgery curtail your plans for a Chicago FFF? I hope the surgery goes well. Best of luck, Paul. Recover quickly and keep that consecutive months streak intact.
No offense taken about your Joliet comment. We're just a little bit more organized than your rather eclectic bunch, many of whom, I think, prefer to fish alone or fish without making a public announcement. I was wondering, too, about a Chicago FFF, but it's still early. I'm sure somebody will come through with a plan.

Why You think Franks some of us Chicago carpers fish alone ???
last few my session I fished with few very new carp anglers from the spots what they found and I was invited and maybe I will fish with them FFF too,
should I do a public announcement for that ???
Better not, bigger fish will come when crowd is less

FFFing in Chicago ...where? All park district and forest preserve closed at dusk! Lakes and ponds are frozen! Lake Michigan and harbors might be open until 10 or 11 pm but it can not fish past midnight! Waters frozen anyway! Few warm water area in the Chicago River amd channels in winter but I dont know if allowing at night! Alone or even two would be not be good idea at night in Chicago!
John--I think the Chicago crew usually waits until sun up for the annual FFF. I recall that they have met in the past at the Lincoln/Peterson venue and at the Roscoe venue. --Frank

Lincoln would be a good place for the FFF. I have also been at Roscoe and Bryn Mawr,Roscoe at midnight and the others not quite at midnight but well before sunup. All three of these places can produce well in the winter including a 30 at Lincoln and many 20s from both Lincoln and Roscoe.
