Tony and I and our lil buddy Justin went Down to Connorsville Indiana for the weekend to see if we could nail some hogs and boy did we! We set up camp Thursday night and by 3 am Friday morning Tony's alarms were SCREAMING... he landed a very nice 24.3 Common, followed by Justins 19lb'r.. just when I was starting to wonder when my turn would be I got a slight aand very pitiful MEEP out of my alarms. I friggin knew it was a kitty and it was....Bout an hour later while I was sleeping another pitiful sound comes from my alarms...this one even more pitiful than the first, should I get up? Hell no, let that thing stay till I am awake. Ahhh....730 am and the poor little kitty on my line is begging for attention so I reel it in and release it after letting it know in no uncertain terms that boilies are for carp ONLY.
During the dayFriday it was very slow....each of us caught one a peice this biggest of the batch being a 21.4 common landed by me.
Attached File  IMAG0420 (361x640).jpg   175.33K   6 downloadsTony had to take off that afternoon and wouldnt be back till the next day, GREAT! More fish for me!!!!
So now It is just Justin and I and it appears that my rein of monster carp terror is over as Justin is steadily reeling in fish and up until this point his biggest was one just above 20lbs....(notice I say up until this point)......
Saturday at 5 am I get that dreaded pitiful MEEP coming from my alarm. I turned over in my sleep and thought you have GOT to be kidding, another one?? As usual I ignore it. Justin comes and asks me if I wanted him to reel it in ( propbablly was annoying the hell out of him) and I said yes. I roll out of bed and walk up beside him as he picks up my rod and instead of reeling in the offeding catfish he turns and says to me, now that you are up reel in your own cat. So I turn off the baitrunner and set the hook and OMG....NOT a KITTY. After a lil battle and lots of surprise I bring in a sweet 29.8. Thank Goodness I thought I had lost my touch!Attached File  147.JPG   179.88K   1 downloads
Not to be outdone though bout an hour later Justins alarm is full blast like I have never heard, he is hurdling objects and stumps in single bounds, snatches up the pole, sets the hook and battles the beast of his lifetime....he has been fishing 20 plus years and FINALLY he has landed not only his PB but one hell of a whopper...31.11Attached File  IMAG0433 (361x640).jpg   177.4K   0 downloads
Attached File  IMAG0438 (361x640).jpg   164.12K   0 downloadsThru out the day Justin brings in several more, nothing over 20 lbs but nothing under 15 either.
Tony shows back up for the final night (this figures, Justin and I are sunburned and have been under attack by mosquitos for 2 days, have chummed and baited every inch of this swim, the fish are there and feeding like crazy) Early in the Am Tony Lands a lovely 26.10Attached File  186 (640x480).jpg   129.22K   0 downloads a new PB for himAttached File  187 (640x480).jpg   136.87K   0 downloads and he hadn't even come down from that adrenaline rush before....DRUMROLL please.....BEEEEEEEEP. Fightin the fish, getting it out of snags, finally getting it up to the net and WHAT IN THE HECK??? a KOI!!!!Attached File  193 (640x480).jpg   232.18K   0 downloadsAttached File  194 (480x640).jpg   231.1K   0 downloadsAttached File  196 (640x480).jpg   250.56K   0 downloads
