Grandson Joe caught a lake trout today; Lake Louise, Alaska. My son and his wife completed a cabin out there this summer...spending the long weekend out there; temps were -6, ice is over 4' thick. Way to Go Joe!!!

Great stuff Bob. I'm surprised they had an auger long enough to get through 4' of ice & to keep the hole open!

Congrats Joe

First time I ever ice fished up there I just had a standard auger...couldn't get deep enough to reach the water. They offer an extension kit which I bought, but...for a gas powered auger which I also bought. LOL!!!

Just think, if it wern't for global warming the ice would be 10' thick.
