Just a Noob here but if Im concerned on tangles I use anti tangle sleeve on at quick link w coated braid hook-link for stiffness (or even mouth trap(heavy mono) Ive steamed for straightness) to help kick out. And I try to drag hand/finger just before touch down to help kick out also.

Jaffar, when I use feeders I always try to hook or pack my bait on the outside of the feeder mass... if you can overpack one side a bit, it will be slightly lighter and end facing up on the bottom.

You might also try combi-rig which is also anti-tangle.

You can use any stiff-base and supple line to the hook...

Also, I prefer an improved albright for the knot rather than what he did... ;-)
