FFF 2016 - Post ALL Carp Entries/Captures Here!

Recommended Posts

fff2016 logo 800pixels

This “FFF 2016 - Post ALL Carp Entries/Captures Here!” thread is where you will officially post all of your photos/entries of FFF 2016 carp captures.

1. The photos posted on this thread and only this thread will determine all Hall of Fame recipients (those who catch a carp by 6:00 a.m. on January 1) and all the winners of the fishing award categories (First Carp of 2016, Monster (Heaviest Carp), Baby (Smallest Carp), Emperor (Highest Total Weight), Prince (Highest Total Weight for a Junior of 17 years or under), and Scubadoc (Heaviest Mirror or Leather)).

2. Both the successful angler and the captured fish must be pictured in each photo/entry you submit. If you are fishing alone, you’ll need long arms for a “selfie” or a camera with a timer. Angler must be indentifiable in the photo.

3. Please submit only one photo/entry per post. In other words, if you have 10 fish photos to submit, please submit them in 10 separate posts. This will keep your caption information concise and without confusion. You can make your posts at varied times if you wish, as long as they are all posted by 10:00 a.m. on January 5. Please be careful that you don't post duplicate entries of the same fish.

3. Please type within each photo’s post the following caption information:
A. Your name (first and last).
B. The weight of the captured carp in pounds and ounces. If it’s a mirror, let me know.
C. The time of the capture (when the carp was safely in the net). Please include the AM or PM designations when reporting time.

4. To provide further verification of the First Fish and Hall of Fame awards and to provide verification that all entered carp were caught on 1/1/16, I encourage you to use the time-stamp/date-stamp option on your camera when a photo of you and your fish is taken. Make sure the camera's date and time settings are accurate before you begin fishing.

However, if you don't activate the time/date-stamp, or if your camera doesn’t allow that option, your entry will still be accepted. This is CAG. We have faith in the honor system, and we have faith in your honesty and integrity.

5. There are four ways to post a photo.
A - While creating your fish entry post, you can click on the “picture and frame” icon above the post window and paste the URL address of the photo.
B - You can usually copy and paste photos directly into your reply box from social media such as Facebook.
C - You can click on the “More Reply Options” box at the bottom of your reply box. This will take you to a reply screen that has an “Attach Files/Choose Files” button at the bottom. Click "Choose Files," and choose whatever photo you want to post from your computer files.
D - You can create an album within this CAG Forum's "Members Picture Gallery" and then click on the "My Media" icon above the post window when you are ready to post the photo. This will take you to your Members Picture Gallery album, from where you can click on the photo you wish to post.

5. If you are having problems with the photo posting options, I will take your photo and caption information via e-mail and post the photo for you. However, you should know how to post photos on the forum, so please don’t abuse this option. E-mail me at fkrink@comcast.net or pm me. I'll need your e-mailed entries at least two hours before the January 5 deadline to allow me to process and post the pictures by 10:00 a.m.

6. Every and all fishing award entries must be posted on this thread by 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (that’s 9 AM Central, 8 AM Mountain, 7 AM Pacific) on Tuesday, January 5, 2016.

I'm not going to nag you about posting carp entries and posting them on time. That's your call and your responsibility.

In addition, there are those who may decide not to post when they see that their entry will be beaten by another. This FFF 2016 is transparent because all of us can see the entries on this thread in real time. Just keep in mind that there are 46 separate bait and tackle gift certificate awards in addition to Hall of Fame designations. I am also sure that your fellow CAG members would love to see photos of your FFF 2016 results, no matter where you stand in the prize contest.

I primarily volunteered to coordinate FFF so it wouldn't die and so anglers would have an opportunity to continue participation in this popular CAG event. The participation statistics and numbers comparisons to past and future years are all secondary and of little importance to me. If you post your FFF 2016 fish/photos, I thank you and appreciate your willingness to participate in the true spirit of the First Fishing Folly experience. If you opt not to post, that's your call. I respect your posting decision either way.

Please see the carp submission sample on the next post. Don't forget to register for FFF 2016 by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015. Registering much earlier than that, like right now, is always appreciated. Thanks.—Frank Rink, FFF 2016 Coordinator

attachicon.gifFullSizeRender.jpg Caught around 11:30 A.M. 20 1/2 lbs.

Bob--Thanks for participating in FFF 2016. That's what it's all about!

To count, your photo entries must include both the FFF carp and the capturing angler as per FFF rules. Unfortunately, your entry will not count for awards/recognition:

"2. Both the successful angler and the captured fish must be pictured in each photo/entry you submit. If you are fishing alone, you’ll need long arms for a “selfie” or a camera with a timer."

Your involvement in FFF 2016 is most appreciated. Thanks. --Frank

Iain- Thanks for participating in FFF 2016. That's what it's all about!

Eligible entries must include an accurate weight in pounds and ounces. Your mirror entry did not. Your involvement in FFF 2016 is most appreciated. Thanks. --Frank

C'mon, guys. Don't make this harder than it should be. The rules of submission are simple:

1. Photo of fish with angler.

2. Name of angler.

3. Weight of fish in pounds and ounces.

4. Time of capture.

Feel free to post other captures, but only those that include these four elements will be counted. Thanks.--Frank

Caught at Lake Ronkonkoma, NY at 2;18 PM. I was by myself and the best I could do was get my foot in the picture as I didn't want to keep the fish out of water any longer than necessary. This was my first trip for carp and I forgot half the things I needed and the stuff I did bring such as my new fishhunter sonar and sports camera didn't work. I estimated the fish was about 25 inches long based on my foot and probably 7 to 10 pounds in weight. I know I have failed to comply with the rules but wanted to let you know that I did fish the tournament. As I said to my family it's nice to do something new on New Years at 75 years of age. Thanks for the incentive the tournament provided to get me down to the lake.

Jim--Thanks, so much, for participating in FFF 2016. That's what it's all about!

As you acknowledge, your entry isn't eligible to be counted, but your involvement in FFF 2016 is most appreciated. --Frank

WOW! Some impressive catches posted, so far, and the day isn't even over yet. Congrats and thanks to all participants. It looks as if I'll have to exercise some comparative math skills when the Tuesday submission deadline rolls around at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (that’s 9 AM Central, 8 AM Mountain, 7 AM Pacific) on Tuesday, January 5, 2016.
