We won't be able to fish on 9th .Last meeting for our winter leauge Frank .Can't  miss it .

Not a problem, Jerry.  In fact, a two week difference in fishing dates can make a huge difference, so we'll just see what conditions are like on 4/23/17.

Good luck with your winter league.  It would, perhaps, be a more competitive league if it were open to all who wanted to participate.  --Frank

We are 10 days from our April 23 "WCC Warm-Up" Big 5 Tournament at Two Rivers, WI.  Accuweather says we will see a high of 51° (real feel of 59°) with mostly cloudy skies and a chance for a little rain.

We have one more opening if anyone wants in.

Don't forget . . .

1.  We will meet at the Harbor (pictured above and below) in Two Rivers at 6:00 a.m. for peg draw, entry fees, waivers, etc.   For peg choice, we will draw numbers to indicate who has first choice and so on (First one at the venue draws first and so on.  I will draw last).  Then, anglers will choose their own pegs in the order of the numbers they drew.  As is the case with all my tournaments that feature peg choice, if you wish to fish next to someone, you will be moved to last choice to eliminate the unfair advantage of two anglers getting two prime pegs with just one early draw.

2.  Fishing will be from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

3.  There will be a $20 entry fee with 100% payout (50% for 1st, 30% for 2nd, 20% for 3rd).  Medals will also be awarded to the top three Big 5 Tournament anglers.  There will be an optional $10 side-pot for most carp caught, awarded at a 60%-40% ratio if 6 or more anglers participate, and winner-take-all if fewer than 6 take part.  Medals are also awarded for the optional contest and for the top two junior anglers!

4.  High total weight for 5 fish wins.  You can still win if you catch fewer than five.  If there is a tie, the biggest single fish is the deciding factor.

5.  Three rods are allowed.  Carp-friendly nets (long-handled ones are needed here), soft unhooking mats, and quick, catch-weigh-photograph-release procedures are essential and required.

6.  Good luck! --Frank

Thanks to the 12 anglers who will participate this coming Sunday in the "Wisconsin Carp Championship Warm-Up" Big 5 Tournament at Two Rivers.  We are full.  Participants will have 18 pegs from which to choose.  I plan to get there at 5:30 a.m. to set peg flags.  Peg choice is at 6:00 a.m.

Weather forecasts will be updated throughout the week.  As of now, Accuweather is calling for a high of 53° with a touch of morning rain (.06" lasting for less than an hour); otherwise, mostly cloudy.  The wind will be NNE at 8 mph with gusts to 14 mph.  Good luck. --Frank

As of today, there is no rain in the forecast for Sunday, but it will still be a typical spring day in Two Rivers with a partly cloudy, chilly high of 51° and SSE winds at 6-14 mph.  Good luck!

We are 24 hours out, and the forecast is probably as good as it gets for northeast Wisconsin in April.  Latest information calls for a high of 57° on a mostly sunny day with a few clouds.  Temperature at the 7:00 a.m. first cast will be 43°, so bring some layers.  Winds will vary, starting from the WSW causing a high of 57 by 11:00 a.m..  The wind will then shift to NNE resulting in dropping temps and reaching 49° by the 5:00 p.m. closing bell.  The rain has been removed from the forecast.

Please review the peg map, so you are able to choose a peg when your turn arrives.  Good luck! --Frank

No problem.  Good luck, Jakub, at your game.

With falling temperatures and a NNE wind shift in the afternoon, I'll do a quick survey at peg draw to see if participants would prefer a 4:00 or 4:30 p.m. ending time.

I'm out the door in a bit.  Drive safely.  See you at 6:00 a.m.  Good luck! -Frank
