And awaiting response from the last years biggest sponsor, hopefully it comes through. That will make the pots a lot bigger.

We are just a little over two weeks out, and the forecast calls for a high of 73° and sunny skies.  It should be a great day at Lincoln Park!

Quite a difference from last years rain, chilly, weeds and fast flowing water.

Larry--Based on the number of participants, I assume the rod limit will be two, but I haven't seen it in the guidelines.  Is the rod limit two or three?  Thanks. --Frank

Yes you would be correct, 2 rods for the May 20th event.

There is no need to solicit more participants for the May 20 "5 Bridges Big 5 Tournament" in Chicago, because the event is full.

However, in the spirit of Larry's tournament and for the angler who catches the most carp, I am offering a prize of a new 1 kg bag of CC Moore Hemp Pellets, a container of Dynamite Baits 15mm Fluro Pop-ups in Robin Red flavor, and a container of Dynamite Baits 10 mm Fluro Pop-ups in Robin Red flavor.  That's a prize worth $30+ to the participant catching the most carp.  If the winning angler prefers not to take the prize (I know there are some bait sponsored participants in this event), it will be given to the next competitor in the most-carp category.  Good luck! --Frank

We're less than 10 days away from Larry's "5 Bridges Tournament."  Let's hope that the Accuweather forecast for temperature stands but that there are some errors in Accuweather's rain and wind forecast.  Of course, does anyone really know what the weather will be like in 10 days? :D

In the spirit of Larry's event and to assist those who may be looking for some decent, durable, and/or spare carp rods, I am offering three used-but-in-good-shape, 12', 3.25 test curve Daiwa Mad Dragon carp rods at half retail price ($60 at Big Carp Tackle).  I've caught 25+ pound fish with these rods and they hold up well (unless you try to pull 30 lbs. of weeds or a 20 lb. carp up the wall at Joliet :)).  The rods are yours ($30 per rod or $80 for all three) on a first come, first served basis.  Post here.  I am offering these here because they will only be hand-delivered at the event rather than shipped.  The rods also come with tip protectors (about $20 retail value).  Thanks for your consideration. --Frank

After checking my "inventory," I noticed I only have 1 Mad Dragon and two Wacker Bulldog rods for sale, and they all have a test curve of 3.0.  The Bulldogs are better rods and are more expensive ($75 retail/new per rod); but due to my posting error, I will keep my asking price as originally stated ($30 per rod or $80 for all three).  I have responded to Jaffar below, but if he prefers not to take the rods, they will be available.  They are described three posts below.  Thanks.

Rods are sold.  Thanks, Jaffar!
