New rules this year Bill. In order to make it balanced we decided to make it a regional competition. When you register you confirm your State which then shows which region you will fish in. You can only submit fish from one Region.

Here are some non Dale Hollow Tennessee carp from a lake I am now shifting my focus to.  Although I would love to return to Dale Hollow, fishing locally has its perks and own challenges.

I will just post the pictures in here and do a write up on the main section.  Needless to say, yesterday was a good day on the water.  I took the day off to start the Big 4 in good fashion, and I have no complaints.

11lb 2oz caught on a paylake rigged puff with panko pack

11lb 2oz.JPG

19lbs 14oz and then a 15lb 0oz caught at the same time as indicated by the clouds behind me.  The 19lb 14oz came on grits pack flavored with RW Red Peach (my go to spring flavor and pack) with RW Vanilla Butternut corn and a few fake pieces of corn to make it stand out a little

The runt of the day at 8lbs even on the red peach grits pack with a puff

21lbs 4oz on red peach grits pack and a puff

21lb 4oz.JPG

As my day was winding to an end, I had committed myself to leaving at a set time.  5 minutes prior to leaving, this 25lb 10oz fish came on the red peach grits pack, and again the puff.  This is my biggest fish from this lake, and I am not sure anyone else has targeted carp on it.  On my 4th carp centric trip here, the weights and potential keep increasing, as does my success as I learn the bottom structure better and work to identify some patterns.

Nicely done!!.........never used grits before, but, I'm agreeing with many forum chats that if you find the fish, you'll catch em.......having said that, I've been trying one pole strawberry panko, one clam panko and one pea panko and it is strawberry >clam (with even cats/carp) > pea-(one fish) in three early evenin fishin events this week.........gearing up for Sun/Mon........

Been catching good numbers of small ones and then, bingo, 29 lbs. 2 oz. Got this big girl on a combo bait of maize and a white artificial corn fished on the hair rig. Method ball packed around the sinker008 - Copy (640x481).jpg. Stange thing is that I landed over 20 fish in this spot and not one of them even hit ten pounds. Hmm, you just never know!

This was the first carp fishing I've done all year.  Actually, I went out last week but the spot I fished wasn't getting bites and I could see the fish spawning on the other side of the lake, with no access so I gave up.  Then the day before yesterday, I was out kayak fishing and still had that bait sitting in the back of my truck so I pre-baited a spot that I fished yesterday.  I haven't been too passionate about carp fishing since I got my kayak but this was an epic session for me and has me excited for carp fishing again.  Unfortunately, all these carp will be dead in a few months as they are going to drain the lake.  I have caught 3 PBs out of this lake and 5 over 30#, the smallest carp I've caught was 11#.  Such a shame.  https://youtu.be/jOcvLCkztfI

I tried to upload these fish to the leaderboard and the pics arent showing up for some reason but the text is....however my fifth (practice) fish actually showed up. First time actually submitting fish so I'm not sure if this is a common issue or not. However, here is my big four so far....from top to bottom. 30lb 6oz, 25lb 9oz, 22lb 5oz, and 19lb 5oz....and yes it was an absolutely epic trip! Here in Southern Ohio they are getting ready to drop eggs...once that happens getting upgrades will be tough.

I had same issue uploading photos.  Maybe someone can explain how to do it.  I'm sure I am doing something wrong.   Here's a few pics of my recent catches

I had the same problem loading pictures to the leader board last year. It is because the photo is too large. If taken with a phone, send the pictures via text message and that will compress them. If taken on a digital camera you will have to manually change the photo size using editing software. I don't recall the appropriate size though.

A few fish from my session on May 12th. I had two 30+ fish back to back, 34.2lb, 31.8lb. The third fish is 28.5lbs. I've been getting some awesome results on my homemade cell wafters!
