The lake is 10 acres at the bottom of a huge hill, so it receives a lot of runoff, but is not fed by a creek or stream. I’m going out there now. The park opens at 8am and closes half an hour after sunset.

Four hours and another goose egg. Lost one but it didn’t feel big, had several quick hits but no takers or runs besides the one I lost reeling in. I’m going to bait the spot Sunday and fish it a few days next week. I’m sure they’re in there.

hmmmm, if its man made and no connection to a creek, flood plain, etc. it may not have carp....................

I’m getting concerned. I did see several 2-3 feet long carp spawning on the bank a few years ago.

Well, the carp haven’t showed after fishing there four times. I called the conservation Department and the lady checked with a fishery biologist, who confirmed that this lake isn’t a good venue for carp. He recommended a lake off the Meramec River that has been flooded for a couple of months. This lake also has a large population of Asian carp.

Yeah, the Asian carp will bump lines as they go past, but you won't catch any. Try to find an old lake with a feeder stream into it ( older than 15 years-better 20-30 years)......patience grasshopper!...

Nothing in the public realm fitting that description. I’m going to try Busch 33 next week. Been using the Panko, strawberry jello, sweet corn and hominy on my method lead, along with some Korda IB flavors. I’m hoping once I find a carp water, I’ll hook up.

On on another note, I have 250 pounds of grains to boil for my particle bait.

I’m getting closer with this nice Buffalo. Not a super hard hit and he didn’t fight much until I got him 15 feet from the shore, then he fought. My scale I just bought was broke, so I’m not sure of his weight. I’m thinking 15-20 pounds.

Thanks for the welcome! Congratulations on your new role with CAG👍

My scooters (I have two different models) were purchased from triad motion.com. I use one at work full time to get around and the big blue one you see here is for recreational use to get me around outdoors. Best purchases I’ve ever made. Their company is just awesome!

Interesting. No whiskers on it. It’s mouth didn’t look like a grass carp, hard to see in that picture though. It didn’t fight like a grass carp either. It went back to the river in good shape.

Different river, different results. My new Saber scale was broke out of the box, but he felt every bit of 20 pounds. I’m 6’5” and 270 pounds for reference. Took five minutes to bring it in.

Caught one today, my friend caught three Buffalo, the largest being 20-25 pounds but unhooking it his finger got wrapped in the rig and cut him pretty badly, then it came off and fell back in. It was in the net for four or five minutes recovering before the mishap. Those Buffalo are slimy stinkers.
