Four thirties in a one day...

Recommended Posts

I had the most amazing day... Four thirties (up to 38lb)... Three 28lb... Several more mid-20s and a few smaller fish... All thanks to Stelian Bogdan who kindly invited me to an incredible river spot where fish are (nearly!) as thick as they are long...

Here is the 38lb.

I just realized that in just one day, I did better at the Big4 that I ever did in the past. My best showing was 134lb, which secured me the fall 2017 win. And I already have 136-8lb. I just pinched myself and I seem to be awake... Now of course, the Claytons will leave me in the dust, oh well.

Some people have the 'mystic' green thumb when it comes to gardening.

Others have that "special knack' at fishing.  Like you.

Thanks for sharing your day.   It gives the rest of us something to strive for.

Ah! I wish! The stories I tell are about the times when the stars lined up. I stay more discreet on my numerous failures! Like we all do! LOL

Since Oct 5th (when I caught those 4 30s in one single day!), I have been traveling around and fishing nearly every day. I caught three other 30s from three different locations, but none helped to improve my Big-4. In the mean time, Kody and Sean Clayton crept up on me and went just a few pounds ahead of me, both of them!

I kept working on it, working on it. This week was absolutely abysmal, got 4 carp runs total, lost 2 on a snag, nothing big landed. I blanked 3 days in a row. I gave it one last chance this morning, I only had a window of a couple of hours to fish one last time with the talented Ryan Munn. Less than 30 minutes before we had to wrap up, I got a couple of beeps. I grumbled "f*** catfish". It turned out to be a tad bigger. 36 pounds and a half, now guess who is ahead of Sean and Kody? 🥳

Now Sean, if you read this, remember what you said (which I totally agreed with)? NEVER GIVE UP. The ball is in your camp, buddy. Please make my day, change the ranking once again...

You’re fishing hard sir!  If you’re going to do something do it right! Kody saw you pulled ahead and says to me “welp, time to cook corn”😁.  Good looking fish!

It is great to be in the stands watching this unfold!!......I on the other hand haven't had the time or places to fish this fall. It actually makes each session more important though, and, in the end, fishin's fishin!!... Great job again!!!!...  MO

Awesome fish!

Ive fished twice this week, blanked for six hours one day and hit the river the second day when after 4 hours landed a 26.5 oz grass carp. Left my tripod in the car and it wouldn’t have counted to the big 4 anyway.

Well Jerome, it seems the stars continue to line up for you!  Congrats on a remarkable fish. And with perfect timing to boot!

I'm thinking this Massachusetts - Pennsylvania playoff is more interesting than the world series.  And Jerome is outnumbered 2 to 1!  (Now that sports betting has been legalized, are there any wagers as to the outcome of this event?)

You can send me the wagers, I'm good with numbers and money... 😉

As a side note, besides my little escapade on the Erie canal, I fished most of my time in various areas of PA or very close to it. Bringing the playoff on the Clayton's territory... While they spent 8 days in Tennessee! So we've all been traveling around.

PS. I *might* fish a few days in MA if they happen to take the lead again, LOL.
