Well Alex has gone and done it now - complete 3 rod setup (pod, swingers, rods, reels and bite alarms) all for a low low price, very big savings on buying individually.

You can see the gear here on the Royal Carp site.

And yes Fran we know it is bottom end gear, but it is meant for beginners not experts like you.

Keith,

Cool, kool, we need vendors who aggressively market carp hardware especially for the beginer or transition angler. My compliments to Alex and Royal Bait.

that IS a serious deal.you wont find anything like that any place else

thats for sure.when i first started upgrading to English tackle, did so

over a period of time rods, reels, then pod,ect and it was ALL cheap stuff

but if i was to have purchased it all at once it would have cost a good

$400-$450 just for a basic 2 rod and full pod set up.you guys should grab one

or three for your kids while you can.

What a bargain for a complete two rod set up and for a complete 3 rod set up.

Yet as I read thru this thread it makes me wonder WHO is trying to promote this forum and WHO is trying to prevent it from growing....... :D:D:D

We all can't afford to go out and spend ridiculous amounts of money on euro style tackle....... :D:D

Alex (Royal Carp) has put out an offer that is affordable to the majority that won't break the bank........ :D:D:D...........and give people the chance to try Carp Angling if they so please without having to spend $1000 to get started.

So it raises the question as to why prices can't be quoted if it is in the best interests of the CAG in gaining future members or just introducing people to carp fishing.

Just my 200 quids worth for what it's worth.............................. :D:D:D

All

I have just ordered the 2 rod set up in preperationfor my son arriving for his Christmas vacation. At $$ dollars it is a deal that is more than worth it.

I will have no hesitation in using that set up whilst my son uses mine as it appears that by using higher end market equipment makes you catch BIGGER fish..... :D:D .....what a Christmas present that would make for him............... :D:D

All thru my fishing years I have always wondered why some people caught big fish............It must have been the tackle they were using................... :D ...........and there was me thinking "A good tradesman never blames his tools"............ :D

There again I know of more than one person who blanks consistently using high end tackle so that throws that theory out the window............... :D

Back to the Rod set up.........I have used the rods, as Carol owns two, and they performed excellent and for $$ the only thing I have to buy is line.... :D ............cheap tackle it is not, value for money it is.. :D:D

OHHHHHHHH Chris you may have been too hasty in ordering the above as I have just been informed that another U.S tackle supplier has been quoted as saying that they will beat any price quoted on the internet!!!!!!!!... :D:D.........the proof is in the pudding...... :D:D

I will post a review of this cheap (I Mean Value).... :D ....... complete set up in a couple of weeks for all the doubting Thomas's to read............. :D:D

A final note.........I have no connection to Royal Carp other than catching fish using their value for money boilies available from www.royalcarp.com........ :D

Hi all -

I've split this topic into two. Most of the "price listing" discussion has been moved to a thread of that name. The Royal Carp combo looks like a great deal. I have also edited out specific price references in keeping with the current pricing policy. Referring to the cost as "a great deal" or "an awsome value" etc. is fine. Unless the rule is changed, though, we will equally apply the "no price listing" rule to ALL vendors. Please take any discussion of this decision over to the "Price Listing" thread.

PS. I too am happy to see specialist carp tackle offered at a level which will hopefully encourage more people to try it out. Kudo's to Royal Carp.

Alex used that pod at the St. Lawrence and it handled the conditions and current just fine. I intend to upgrade to one soon but have to sell my old solar and pioneer and fox pods. I haven't seen the rods yet buy have tried much of what Alex sells at the Larry and on my home water. As the one guy says, it all catches carp. I like the price point and I promote ANY company that offers good values at any price point. I'm liking the price coming down though as I believe the carp thing is getting ready to take off and it is nice to see entry level stuff at good prices. I think the point of bank angling and social fishing is getting together and enjoying the time spent. The more tackle that is available the better the prices will be and the more inclusive the sport can be. We are not elitist snob fisherman. We just like to catch a great fish and do it while relaxing alone or with friends. For those of us who are multi specie anglers, this social fishing equipment catches other fish as well. Just change the location and the baits, so it's not like you have to buy it just for carp and regret the expense as it's not usefull enough. Like say a 5 1/2 foot bass rod. Nice stuff but very limited in what it can do. Royal Carp's set up can be used very effectively for pike and catfish and other specimen predators. Neat stuff. Tight lines. jb
