There I was... Minding my own business... Taking a boat ride and chumming up the pond... Hey look, it's Jerome! So me and my daughter grabbed our gear and joined him for a couple of hours of fishing. Both me and my daughter (10 years old) caught our first carp EVER. I landed a 17lb beauty and My daughter followed up with a 14.5 lber (if I dont mention that .5 lbs my daughter gets really mad ohmy.gif ) What a rush!

Nicw to see someone catching while I am snowed in here in Michigan.
Nice pics and good luck on your next carp venture.
Not a bad size at all for your first one, I'll bet your daughter loved catching that 14.5.

Good luck,
Andy

Those half pounds are very important... smile.gif

Well, I was going to post a story here about three new carp anglers and their success (two of them), but it was already done!

This is so great to witness new folks catch their first carp, and even better when the anglers are father and daughter and the catch are really nice fish! smile.gif

So let me just add a few pics... Aengus with his 17lb... Not everybody starts his carp fishing career with such a fish!

And she did catch this 14-5lb beauty... I bet she'll catch a 20+ before her father... And she's now leading the New England junior big fish award... Don't you love this pic? smile.gif

Coming to Phil's question... I wasn't happy with only two new carp anglers... So I gave my rods to somebody with real potential... Somebody who really likes fish... Luckily enough, this angler didn't catch anything because I'm not so sure catch and release would have been used... rolleyes.gif
