Chris, Bob, Kerry and myself braved the elements (meaning snow, wind & ice) and went fishing at midnight. Well, Chris didn't fish, he just kept us entertained... <_<

I was convinced it would be an easy deal, Domm had pre-baited the spot, we knew numerous carp were there (this is my video spot), we'd be home by 1AM...

Yeah, except that the wind was blowing in the reverse direction than usual, pushing large spots of ice towards the wall where we usually fish and making out life much more difficult than expected. Without speaking of the snow which decided to start falling around 11PM...

I finally succeeded to land the first one after 27 minutes of anxiety (will we catch *anything* tonight?) and landed a 9lb 12oz carp at 12:27AM EST. Maybe the first carp caught in the US? You guys will tell me... cool.gif

Then we decided it was Kerry's turn. But bad luck made our lives difficult. One line cut on the concrete, one fish unhooking itself... Finally, Terry nicely played the next carp, Bob netted it, yeah, victory is there... but wait... Bob, where is the fish... Er... it escaped, was the answer! DARN! But no, finally, Kerry got another run, this time I netted it (!!) and here it was, the 2nd fish of the night, an 8 pounder for Kerry at 1:20AM, who, I have to say, was very brave to come with us.

Then we waited for Bob to catch one. We waited a LOOONG time. And snow was falling harder. And we were freezing. Until I got tired of it and told Bob to come fish my spot after I had landed another fish (12lb). Oh surprise, he caught a fish within minutes... And a definite contender for the baby phone award! Caught at 2:40AM, and no more than 3lb 12oz... biggrin.gif

Here are the main pics. And we'll be back at it in a few hours... cool.gif

A quick update. Domm, Sarah and Vinny were at the same spot this morning before 6AM. And we have a few inches of snow on the ground. The things carpers do...

So far, they landed an impressive number of 20 fish! Including a 3 pounder for Vinny who is now our best contender for the baby phone award. But each of them is getting a strong contender for the emperor award!

I'm going there by now... Stay tuned... cool.gif

Good luck to all in this FFF. This is my first one, and I'm really enjoying it here in Pennsylvania. Tight lines! wink.gif

Keep at it guys - looking forward to the final weight tally!

FFF Connecticut report...

Gate & I arrived at the swim @9:30 am (couldn't get up early! blink.gif ).
Snow had stopped, covering all with @2 inches of fresh white stuff.

The river looked quite scenic this morning.

Stayed till 3pm EST. The only fish of the day was a nice mirror. Couldn't get a weight on him though...

Had a great time, it was a pretty decent day to be outside.

Just got back from being out. We got into the swim at about 5:20 am EST. The water was still up so we weren't able to fish our normal spot that had been producing pretty well. At 5:36 am, I landed my first carp of the day, just a little over 7 lbs. It was slow until about 10 am when a few more were landed. It went dead again until about 4 pm and started to pick up right before sunset. we headed out about 6:15 pm. We ended up with only 8 total, with the biggest only being 13 lbs and some change. Hope everyone had a good 1st, looking forward to the reports.

Jake

My wife and I left at 11:30 pm to get to our spot. When we arrived we found ice to be covering 90 percent of the lake. Only about 5 feet of open water stretched from the shore, leaving the lake unfishable, so we turned around and went home. A total bummer from the state of Colorado.

Dom Mariano. 23 fish. 179lb. nuff said... smile.gif

Vinny did pretty good as well. 18 fish. 103 lb. And a baby carp at 3lb.

Oh, and Scott caught a 25lb from a "secret" spot (yes, he has a witness!)...

Ok - I'm sure you can't handle the suspense. We fished a local park lake that I haven't fished for a few years (our first choice venue was locked and up for sale ohmy.gif ).

Cutting a long story pretty short we all caught! As Jerome has pointed out to me it's the first time I've fished with all three of my daughters and we've all caught!

Nothing huge but three doubles and a single in a little over 4 hours fishing was pretty good. A couple of photos to follow...
