QUOTE (ctcarper @ May 11 2006, 02:35 PM) Mike/Bob If there is a discrepancy in the team sizes, say only X CT members, then you could just count the scores of the top X anglers from each team to determine how thoroughly MA has kicked the butt of CT-and-friends......or vice versa. As I will undoubtedly blank this will means that I drop off the MA list! On the weather front. We ARE looking at serious rain, 10-15 mph ENE winds and cold (highs in the 40s). If anyone does have big brollies or other shelter make sure you bring it. In fact, if you have more than one bring 'em all and share. I'll be bringing my Fox Oval and a small (slightly leaky) bivvy. Drive safe everyone.....and lets hope we haul big time! See you tomorrow. Iain. This post has been edited by redcoat: May 12 2006, 06:20 AM -------------------- Iain Murray

They would then get the points that he or she earns. It could be good or bad. If they are two short they get to draw two names and so on. We could let someone from our team fish for their team. What ever works we will do it is all for fun anyway. I will be heading there today to bait up for the last time. Get ready for a wet fun day PS: Iain will not blank (there are some bull heads there) -------------------- PB Common 43.00 LBS NY

I just spoke with Mike. We were talking about meeting in doors for the Peg draw. There is a Dunkin Donuts on Middlesex Rd. It will be on your left as you head to the Park. We could all meet there at 8 :15 get a hot coffee and a fishing partner.
Please call if you get lost. (781)354-1022 Bob -------------------- PB Common 43.00 LBS NY

Sorry guys, I just sent mike a PM because I have to drop out.
I fell down the stairs this morning and bashed a few of my ribs up pretty bad. I fell on a wooden wine box that was thankfully empty, the doc said it softened my fall. Well i'm off to bed to rest... Sorry about dropping out so late, G'Luck tomorrow all! Mark -------------------- Mark 'The Shark' Wade

Mike and Bob, I have the flags for the pegging and the banner. And the hoop nets.
But we're going to be VERY wet... Heavy rain for the entire day... This will sort out the real men... I don't mind dropping out of the team and fish a bit by myself + do some stewarding + (try to!) take pics if we don't have enough CT participants. This should actually give a better chance to MA... Or I can cross the border and fish for CT... This should also give a better chance to MA... -------------------- Jerome Moisand, Arlington MA

QUOTE (Jerome @ May 12 2006, 08:38 PM) But we're going to be VERY wet... Heavy rain for the entire day... This will sort out the real men... What are you saying Jerome? Real men go home early or something? VERY, VERY, VERY wet actually!! Still a fun day and I'm sure I'll be dry by next weekend. I think Steve from CT was the top catcher in the individual and it was pretty close between the Bay State Carpers and Team Connecti-Carp for the team prize. I don't have the complete results as I had to leave right after the contest ended. At least 3 twenties caught. Biggest to Ed W. I had a 21 and Domm had a 20+ right on the 4pm close. Great bunch of anglers. Apologies to those I didn't get to talk to through being drawn on an end peg. Will hopefully see you all at the New England CAGI. Amy. Great chatting with you and I hope my leaky bivvy kept at least a little of the rain off you. Scott. Get well soon. Mike D. I owe you $16. Should I mail a check or can you wait until the CAGI? Big thanks to Bob G and Mike D for organising everything. Iain. -------------------- Iain Murray

Well I just got back from the NEYC. Two good teams fished during a Monsoon. The rain just fell and fell. The river was 6 feet low , the cold wind was blowing but some great anglers found a way to catch some really nice fish. It was a horse race all day but when it was all said and done, the CT team won by a narrow 35 to 34 margin! Big fish was caught by Ed Wagner (CT) a nice 24.8 Lbs Common. The second big fish was caught by Iain Murray (MA) a nice 21.00 Lbs Common. Three anglers accounted for some 20 fish alone. I will let Mike D post all the other catches tonight. Over all it was a fun day of fishing in some of the worst weather we have seen in New England. The Trophy is heading to CT in a very wet Mini Van but we will travel to that "Other" state next year to bring it back home! I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who fished and helped out! I can wait to do it again next year. AF Bob This post has been edited by AF Bob: May 16 2006, 04:35 PM -------------------- PB Common 43.00 LBS NY

Iain, fantastic job sir!
I did some token fishing, and managed to net a couple nice fish for Corey, well done! Steve Clow, wow! Dave D, Ed, and everyone who caught during this horrendous day...you guys rock! Even those, like myself, who blanked, we rock also! Great time, especially for the weather. CT won by a point, but the fact that some impressive fishing was seen and done, many were victorious. Ed's 24-8 was biggie, which ain't bad for these conditions. Well done Bob, Mike, Kerry, and all! |
