Following a sudden impulse, I drove to a new location which looked nice on the regional map (a small pond flowing into the big river!). Well, turned out this wasn't fishable. After more scouting in the area, I finally found a nice parking lot on the border of the river, with a small island in front of me.

A quick cast told me that the channel between the shore and the island was actually quite deep. Sounds good!

I pre-baited, set up my rods, and waited for a while, deep in thought in XBox magazine (yeah, well, only thing to read which happened to be in my car). After 90 minutes, I was starting to think that the spot was dead, but a run pleasantly surprised me.

It was a tiny baby though, but hey, better than nothing. Re-cast and a run just a few minutes later. A bit nicer, say 12 pounds. Re-cast, and another run 10 minutes later. It felt quite small as well, so I started to grumble a bit. I quickly changed my mood when bringing it to shore because this was a small mirror! Neat!

I know I'm evil, but I couldn't resist and I gave a call to Neil. Who probably knew what I was going to tell him, and purposefully didn't answer, so I left an "evil" voice mail... tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

Sure, nothing exceptional with this little fellow, but hey, it made my day!

PS for Scott: now you have to guess where I was, based the few hints I gave...
