So this is this time of the year... Weather is getting chilly and fishing is slowing down... Is it? ohmy.gif Nah, winter is the BEST time to catch a load of fish if... you can find them! snowballfight.gif

I already received a good number of FFF registrations for our national event on Jan 1st, but if you didn't register yet, then please proceed, using this Web page. It only takes a minute! And this really helps me a lot to track participants and tally results.

If you need a reminder about the rules (or to check the few changes we introduced since last year), check here.

Main point is of course to participate and to beat the odds and succeed to catch a fish on New Year's Day, but as usual, we'll have a few prizes for winners.

I tried hard to line up various companies selling outdoors gear this year, but quite a good number of e-mails and letters didn't give me many results... Ahem... None... Those guys are no fun... sad.gif

Luckily, some of our well-known supporters have been much more generous. So let's open the list of prizes... I didn't assign them to specifics awards yet, since I still have a few open discussions with some other possible sponsors. Stay tuned! cool.gif

So first, one of our historical sponsors, P&S Fishing Tackle. Here is the company's Web site.

After offering a great carp rod bag last year, Dmitriy Yakovlev will give a very nice Carp Landing Net for 2007. More details on this Web page.

A great gift for one of the winners. Many thanks, Dmitriy.

Next, a very generous sponsor, DAM International. Here is the company's Web site.

After providing great clothing last year, Tim De Groot promised this year:
1pc - Luxury Bed Chair -- one of the best in the industry what what I heard
4pcs - Boilies, Mussel flavor -- now that's an interesting flavor to try!
2pcs - Tectan Braided Line (green, 50lb) -- brand new, no pic available yet
1pc - DAM Telescopic Rod -- Mike Dragone got one for the CDDW, and is pretty excited about it!

Here are a few pics of those terrific prizes. If I can't win the bed chair myself this year, I'm going to buy one for sure... Many thanks, Tim.

Then we have the ever creative Neil Stern... Who designed some special calendars for CAG members... Yes, but we have to work a bit to win such calendars... ATC participants will get one of them, but FFF winners will as well!

All right, Neil, you're officially my hero! cool.gif

Also Wacker Bait & Tackle offered $100 worth of gift certificates. Cool. We'll probably divide it into five $20 certificates, or something like that. Need I describe the corresponding Web site? Oh well, here it is, follow this link.

Thanks Paul, very much appreciated.

Folks, many thanks for the nice words, this is indeed time consuming to find sponsors, but the guys you need to thank are really the sponsors who answered in a positive manner. They are the ones investing $$$ in such sponsorship.

And guess what, we have two new FFF sponsors today!

First, Ed's Bait & Tackle will give a special reward to to the 10 first participants making the "FFF Hall of Hame" (i.e. catch a carp before 6AM on Jan 1st). You'll get a nice t-shirt and some additional goodies, similar to the gifts Ed offered last year.

If you go fish the St Lawrence near Waddington, pay a visit to Ed Sheffield, he's a cool guy... Check his Web page for more info. The apartment he rents at a cheap price is also super convenient to accomodate a handful of anglers staying for a few days.

Next, we have a new sponsor in town. Actually not so new because he generously contributed gifts to Illinois events in multiple occasions in 2006. I am speaking of Sam Snow, who owns a company named Riverman Sinker Systems, Ltd. And also another one called Carpmaster Bait & Attractants!

The Riverman products are different styles of sinkers coated with textured paint or plastic and are sold under military sounding names like Bunker Busters, Claymores and Limpets. Most of the Carpmaster method mixes are sold in 25 pound buckets and are shipped to North and South Carolina. For product information, you can go to eBay, or email Sam at srstm@comcast.net or mcaa@comcast.net.

Riverman Sinker Systems, Ltd. would like to donate a $100.00 Visa Gift Card for the FFF. Which we'll probably break down into $20 or $25 gifts. This is very generous of you, Sam. Much appreciated.

Can you post a link to Riverman Sinker Systems and Carpmaster Bait & Attractants? I'd like to check them out and see how I can return their support.
