Still waiting for final, final talleys, but we had 3 venues cooking......
Emma Long
Lake Granbury
and a New and yet undisclosed venue ohmy.gif

If you read the previous posts,,,Keith and I decided to have a TEXAS shoot out, Granbury against Emma Long...
knowing thatEmma has much larger fish, we limited our "INSIDE" event to the first fish caught, and the first Mirror Caught ! wink.gif
The Weather was incredible,,,,,,gusting winds at both venues, I mean 30 -40 mile per hour winds, and getting down to the upper teens in the evening,a wind chill of what felt like ZERO , only warming up to about 45 degrees during the day ( from noon til about 3 PM, then the mercury started to do its' thing again,,,
First, for the special little challage, I want to thank all of the "DIE HARDS" that made it......and to say that those that didn't becuase of the temperature and weather, that you are "CHICKEN".....
Chili was outstanding at both locations, and the hot coffee kept coming, but it was incredible weather to say the least it was a WITCH (with a "B") laugh.gif Special thanks to Jackie and Kathy, who worked relentlesssly on the food, and beverage...you women are tremendous.....putting up with our crap ohmy.gif
"RELIC" showed up at Granbury, on the 31st, just as it was getting dark...we sat by the fire, and waited for others, and waited, and waited, ate CHILI, and waited, and Jackie did a great job, no less than great on getting things in order...as did Kath and Keith at EMMA..I checked in with Keith multiple times during the day,,,,,Scott "BEWBOY" broke his personal best Buffalo, Mark nailed a monster cat, Keith broke his personal best on a White Amur, and all the while, he kept calling me, trying to rub it in......my response.....the event hasn't started yet !!!! laugh.gif
At about 11:45 we popped some Bubly, broke out the noisemakers at both venues, and the event was on at the stroke of MIDNIGHT.....we hadn't heard anything from Duncan and Frank who were at the 3rd venue......
at 12:15, RELIC, landed a Granbury monster 2 pounds 5 ounces, I called Keith, smile.gif he was very depressed smile.gif ahh sweet victory, tongue.gif we had won phase one wink.gif
no one caught a MIRROR,( much to my chagrin mad.gif ) but we did call PHONE, at that time, just to bust his button...told him RELIC had caught the 2 pound CARP, and I think he's still laughing, saying that he thouhgt carp weren't born until they were at least 3 pounds ! wacko.gif mad.gif , but we did make the call biggrin.gif ...
Unofficial result for EMMA LONG:
Chris------25lbs someting ounces at 1 AM
Scott ----20 pounds 4 oz at 1:16 AM
Mark V.---19 pounds even at 3:40 PM
Results for Granbury:
Relic----2 pounds 5 ounces---12:15 AM, and one 2 pounds 8 ounces
but the real kicker was Duncan, and Frank at the new venue,,,,,Freezing cold, water temperature like ours at Granbury hovering between 47 and 48....ready for this??

I'll let Keith, and Duncan, and Jackie post the pictures of the respective events......some of the pictures that Duncan sent to me were nothing short of OUTSTANDING...and I don't want to steal any of his "THUNDER"
We all had a wonderful time smile.gif
Great Spirits and a Great Event...( just too damned cold and windy )
Thanks to everyone that participated...and please post your pictures, and story enhancements here...I'm going to bed cause I'm dog tired, and still trying to thaw out ! ph34r.gif

Congrats to everyone to who entered the FFF and braved the elements.

To put it mildly, the weather was certainly character-building at the Emma Long venue. unsure.gif
I'll be submitting my write-up w/photos tonight when my fingers thaw out !!

The carp that Chris caught at 1am was 25lb 5oz.
