No luck for me, I went out for a few hours Monday up in the Akron area with Dick L and Shawn W. Was not too bad when we got there at around 45 but got cold in a hurry and was in he 30's in a few short hours. Lots of wind, rain and sleet and not a drop of snow which does not feel lika January at all.

Anyways as far as I know Richie and crew came up with around 15 fish or so at a river spot, nothing big but they caught. Shawn W and I did nothing, I had a few line bumps and 1 that looked like a decent bite but it was hard to tell if that was a fish or a duck sitting over my bait. Dick L got a 4 pounder right when he got there, and also hit a 20 a little later, water temp was 46.1 or something like that.

I have not heard from anyone else in the Ohio front, not sure if anybody was out an about up North around Erie or down south by the Ohio R.

Jerome told me this info is on a need-to-know basis. wink.gif

Glad you managed to get out of bed (eventually) and catch one.

You tell me! Because at this stage, I am *far* from having collected detailed reports from the 180+ participants who registered! Will take a couple of weeks and a few hundred e-mails at best... rolleyes.gif

PS. There is a stunning fish which didn't come out yet on the forum... I will say no more... Stay tuned... ph34r.gif

I arrived at my swim shortly after 7am and fished until noon. I fished at my favorite venue, Pine Hill Lakes in Mason, OH.

The weather started off calm, mild, and overcast. If it would have stayed like that I might have have a good day. Unfortunately, it started to sprinkle off and on, and the rain finally came through, brought a cold front and moderate winds. I managed one run early in the 44 degree water and lost the sluggish fish to a hook pull after a few head shakes and a steady 10 yard drift of a "run."

That would be my only run until Rod arrived. At that point I got my final run, which ended up being a catfish that swim straight at me the "fight." It would just be a mediocre start had Rod not caught it on video. So now I am down an early -1 and likely jinxed for the rest of the year.

I'd like to thank Rod and Keith for making it out to keep me company after the conditions went south. It's been a few lonely carpless months for me, and now that I have a hole to clime out of, I can focus my efforts on that first carp.

Here is the video for those wanting to watch the jinx in action: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=76...04460&hl=en
