Great job Jerome. I had a blast even though we had a certain no show that was not allowed out of the house. We are already planning for next year. We put it together kind of quick and will be better organized next year. Great job Shawn. Hopefully next year the St. Lawrence is frozen over. Just kidding!

On behalf of the St. Lawrence Crew we hope the St. Lawrence is frozen over too smile.gif but don't count on that stopping us from catching cool.gif Huge thanks to Jerome for putting all this together, and I'm sure your lovely wife deserves much credit also. Congratulations to everyone who participated and I hope I see all of you in Waddington in 2007 biggrin.gif

Well done everyone.

It looks like my thread on "How to Successfully Snag Carp" has really paid off. Looks as though some of you guys really paid attention.

Phone

You all do know it is a biological fact. Carp CANNOT "feed" in water below 50 degrees. Feed is defined as consuming enough energy to sustain life. Remember what little they do intake (for any number of reasons) they cannot digest more than about 5 or 10% at these lower temperatures.

As for the absoulty GREAT Larry successes this year - well - while the above statements are true, even Phone has to pick his fights. I have no idea why carp would congregrate around ground bait in 40 degree water (unless they were conditioned to it prior to the water getting cold); I have no idea any of the conditions including the spirit of these masterful fish that induced such phenomanal success. I begrudgingly believe Ed and the group are honest anglers (well, at least on this subject and this time, no red blooded North American angler should be 100% truthful IMO). I will say this, if these Larry lads had believed Phone and not braved the weather a lot of amazing fish wouldn't have been put on the bank.

Isn't it true the physics involved with bumble bees make it impossible for them to fly?

First carp caught before 6AM (FFF Hall of Fame entrants).

In addition, Willy Gordon will also enter the Hall of Fame, for his extraordinary achievement of catching such a big koi on Jan 1st.
