Congratulations to the Massachusetts team on their 5 points to 1 point victory. Fishing was slow, the venue is loaded with carp we were using the best baits money can buy, some of the best carp anglers in the Northeast were competing but the fish did not want to co-operate. Was it the cold front that was coming through , were they spawning , who knows but we still had a great time. In all three carp were caught , the two Massachusetts carp were both caught by Bill Anderson , a mirror for 3 points and a common for 2 points. The lone Connecticut carp was caught by Axel a common for 1 point. We gathered after the event at a local restaurant to award the trophy to the Mass. team and raffle off prizes ( a big thankyou to ED'S BAIT & TACKLE , CONCEPT FOR YOU BAITS AND DYNAMITE BAITS for donating pizes) and down a few cold ones. Here is a picture with six of the nine winning team members with the NEYC trophy. Everyone enjoyed the event , even though not many fish were caught it is a great social event and we are all looking forward to the 2008 NEYC in Massachusetts.

That was great-looking venue, I'd love to come back again. Domm and I sorely regret missing the "after-party," but we had a screaming animal and his dog in the truck. biggrin.gif

I agree about the venue.....even if the carp were stubborn.

Watching Attila fishing his 10m pole certainly made me go a bit UK-nostalgic.

......if it had been a Bluegill tournament we'd all have been toast! smile.gif

Thanks for organizing Steve.......you really should come up to MA for a weekend before too long.

Iain.

Nicely done guys! MA won, as I predicted. Awesome! Sounds like a super venue with great potential. Great prizes and a nice social event as well!

Thanks to Steve and Mike for keeping the NEYC tradition going. Can't wait for NEYC 2008, in MA.

IMO, Paderewski Park Pond won! laugh.gif

Jerome: yay! If there's room in your carpmobile for the goodies, Domm and I are going to the CT CAGI.

Why, yes, I believe the pond actually did win due to some scheduling conflicts. Nicely pointed out, Eric! laugh.gif

Thanks to the CT guys for being great hosts and organizing a great event. Especially thanks to Steve for drawing me into the best swim on the pond. (I'll send you that C-note I promised as soon as my ship comes in.)

Hey Bill, remember what I said when you got this peg? I immediately stated that MA won... Wasn't that prescient or what? cool.gif

Well done, great angling under difficult conditions, it was obviously much more than the peg draw.
