TREMENDOUS EVENT !!!!! smile.gif
SPECIAL THANKS TO JACKIE, TERRY MARDELL, SCOTT & SUSAN TOWNSON, AND TO ALL THE AGFC PEOPLE,
NAMELY: ( IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER...JUST WHAT POPPED INTO ME LITTLE HEAD) laugh.gif
Chris Racey--Asst. Biologist, Family & Community Fisheries Program
B.G. Bridges---Arkansas Game & Fish Wild Life Officer
Clinton LeRoy Coleman---Family & Community Fisheries Program
Mike Armstrong Head of Arkansas Game And Fisheries Commission
Don Brader---Assistant Head of Arkansas Game & Fish Commission
Stuart Wooldgridge---Superintendent of Hamilton Lake, AGFC
Drew Wilson--Superintendent of Dierkes Lake. AGFC

To make a long story short....38 people, not including the above, families, kids, you name it... laugh.gif ...
tough venue, just beginning,,,,only Scott Caught fish, Jackie and I and Terry were too busy with the Crowd, and AGFC people,,
We had a CARP CLINIC, and fished,,,
Scott's first fish was a 23 plus pound Grasser, that literally killed herself during the fight, she could not be revived no matter how hard we tried...so we decided to use her as table fare,,,Fed just about everyone there,,,,,wonderful Grass Carp ( White Amur) fish fry, really quite tasty,,,
Pictures to follow, we took tons of em!!!!
Great Event, and now Arkansas is really aware of carp Angling,,,, and the AGFC (Arkansas Game and Fish Commission) knows just how powerful a draw Carp Angling can be, and just how much CAG is willing to support the sport!!!
FYI, they pre-baited the area, provided support for the event, provided tents, coolers, ice, etc. and made the event available as a Free fishing day ( no license required)...

Special thanks to the AGFC for working with us, and for being so open minded about the sport,,,, I can't sing their praises loud enough !

As I said pictures to follow,,,,,,, smile.gif
Scott, Terry, Susan Etc, if you have any, please feel free to post them up!!

Thanks Jerome,,a great event !

Great work Neil. I was reading some Arkansas fish and game information (maybe planning a trip to the Buffalo River) and I was quite surprised to find a good amount of info on carping. Your name was mentioned a few times and they seem to be very open minded about carp fishing down there.

Thanks everyone, Jackie and I are quite pleased at the way things worked out,,,we've been hitting the Game and Fish Commission hard and heavy with public relations, etc, etc, and we are trying to get some of the people from over seas over to fish the lakes,,,,as they are very promising,,,Dave Moore is on this as well, as Arkansas is a possible site for a tourney in the future,,,...!
Yes, they are now VERY RECEPTIVE to Carp Angling,,,and now that I did what I had to do, I'm going to request that the Board, turn the State chairmanship over to Terry Mardell....Terry has introduced many a fine angler into CARP FISHING, and was one of the Original Chairs in California, after spending time with him this week end, and introducing to the AGFC people, I'm confident he will do a great job,,,,,,,and he now lives in ARKANSAS!!!! what a stroke of luck !!!!!

So Andy, if you read this , you will have an "E" mail with all of the information on Terry, p[lease talk to him,,,,,he'll make a great chair! laugh.gif

ok Jackie and Scott, and Sue...post those pictures!!! laugh.gif

So if I got this right, 30+ guests entertained by Neil and his band! rolleyes.gif

When I called Neil during the event, I had to pinch myself... 38 participants in Arkansas? And Terry Mardell coming back to the CAG scene? Plenty of good stories during this edition of the CAGI, but this one is clearly an exceptional one.

The Champion of the Queen 2007 and his great helpers delivered the goods again. Cool. smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif
