Who plans on fishing this January 1st? Unless you are catching 30's somewhere else, why not fish at Kingston? I will be prebaiting the area by the bridge. If you are catching 30's elsewhere....keep after them. But remember, for the FFF awards you need to take a witness and a thermometer. I hope Tennessee wins the Monster Phone Award this year.

You can fish at the old boat ramp and south ... just don't go north of the ramp as it is considered a bird sanctuary right now.

I did some prebaiting today at Kingston. I plan to bait on 3 or 4 more days before the 1st. From the boat ramp south to the rock pier there is a good amount of bank space. Attached Image

The water is down to the winter level now. The sandy flat area to the north of the boat ramp is now exposed.Attached Image
Here is the sign warning about the area north of the boat ramp.Attached Image

The surface water temperature was about 60 degrees this afternoon on a nice warm day. Hopefully, it will be below 50 by midnight of New Year's Eve.

There is no cost to participate in the FFF, DuckPondKing. If you and Mike want to fish the FFF at Kingston, I think I can register you both for it as my guests. Non-CAG members can participate as guests of CAG members. Or you can go ahead and join CAG for $25/year. If you want me to register you as a guest just send me your name via PM.

The FFF begins at midnight as the New Year commences. I plan on being there at midnight and if its not to cold for me I will try to catch a carp before 6am. The area by the bridges can be fished at night. I don't know that anyone else will be there before morning.

I arrived at Kingston before midnight of the 31st. The water temperature was 52 degrees. I was alone all night except for a visit from the local police who checked on me. This was the warmest part of the FFF, unfortunately I caught no carp all night. I did catch a buff about 3:30am.

Here is my sunrise photo.Attached Image

I finally got some company on the bank about 8am. Vasile and Pavel(W4C) CAGers from Nashville joined me. They also brought me luck because I started catching carp. Thanks alot for coming over guys!

Vasi netted my 1st carp of 2008 for me. It was a 13-11 at 8:40amAttached Image

I had a 2nd one at 9:15 of 9-05.Attached Image

Vasile caught a couple of carp but he was not interested in weighing his. He was there for the love of carp fishing. I did get a photo of his big one.Attached Image
