Hey folks. Here are some pictures from our little gathering for the MA FFF.

Five of us crazy dudes, including two newbies decided to brave the snow and the cold and yet another storm to ring in the New Year bankside in search of the elusive golden carpios.

Friends stopped by for a while for a chat, warm beverage, and to cheer us on --- THANKS!

We were also promptly reminded just how crazy we were to be doing what we were doing ☺ Darn right, I say!

The fish did not cooperate but we had great time nonetheless.

The water temperature was only 2 degrees above the air temperature and layers of ice were quickly gathering.

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

This little snow later became a full whiteout.

Take a look at a picture of my rods later in the day after we moved spots! WoW!!!

Spirits were high though and we gave it a good try till the late afternoon. As you can see ice was forming quickly on the water and soon it was dragging our lines out. We kept trying new baits and talked strategy and location among ourselves.

A bit of boiled spiced red wine helped!

Cheers everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Nice pics Marius!! Tough day it was but it was fun to get out to say the least and came home with too much water in my right ear. Still blocked as we speak. I think its time to invest in some ice -fishing apparel.

Hard core guys but a bit of advice, leave the blue jeans at home when out in the ice and snow. Jeans are the worst possible thing you can wear in cold wet weather. wink.gif It looks like you were fishing on the planet Hoth!!!

Awsome adventure.

You guys are hardcore. I thought it was cold in Texas as the temps dipped to overnight lows in the 30's and during the day highs in the 60's.
Congrats on your efforts.
