CAG is a volunteer organization. We are in still in need of many volunteers across the continent in a variety of positions. Working for cag can be very rewarding experience. I started as a state chair in 2004 and I have always enjoyed my accomplishments and the good times I had with others through CAG. Maybe there is a place here for you?

If you are interested in any of these positions, please email the directors at cagstaff@carpanglersgroup.com

I would like to add the following NACA editors to this list:

Fly Fishing Editor- Jim P does this Job and does it well, but I am open to a second. Nothing wrong with several FF articles per issue, 2 editors would guarantee this.
Paylaking Editor

These editor jobs above do not require writing. The responsibility is to SOURCE 1 article and related photos on your respective topic for each issue of the NACA. That's 4 per year. They can be about anything in your field- tactics, story, etc.

All of these jobs can be done by contacting members who like to write on the forum, or have published articles in the NACA and other magazines before. Much of the content may even be in a nearly complete form on the forum, if the editor would just contact the writer, get permission and EDIT it to be more formal for print.

Please email cagstaff@carpanglersgroup.com to apply.

This is just a general call for some help from our members-

We could use a Events Chairman and/or committee (This was going to be the VP duties but we haven't had 1 in a year now!)

State Chair Director Kev Abbott laid some great groundwork for getting this rolling but someone just to follow up would be nice.

Jim has taken over the Membership Director position and handled it great since we had an entirely new system. He might could use a few more helpers with helping members log in and on the forum with membership access. Tim C is helping on the events registration and set-up which is awesome. Thanks man.

Louis maintains the entire website now it would be cool if someone that has that background maybe offer to help and learn how that operates.

I've got the Accountant doing our books pretty much up to speed on the tax return, etc. All I need to do is find the time to crunch the numbers for financial statements!

Stewart I know could always use some help! :yourock:

If you would like to help this gives you an idea of how things work behind the scenes provide some insight to help down the road if you would like to hold one of the Director positions.

Many of us are getting into year 3 and it starts to wear you down. You know that you can't do this forever, but it would be nice to have someone ready to step in when that time comes and not spend 6 months just learning the in's and out's. Going forward rather than all of us just saying 'here you go" we'll most likely have an executive committee that helps with ideas, guidance and help out some with the day to day tasks.

I havent done anything I planned on to help CAG since I became the Sec., and for that I'm sorry. But...I'm trying to get to a point were I can offer real help in making things easier and help to bring more DOer's into the fold. Louis,Dave,Stewart and Jim are really doing most of the work and at some point if that continues they will pull back like others have before them. Step up and let them know you can help and we all will enjoy more member benifits.

Oh by the way, good work...Louis,Dave,Stewart and Jim!!!

If you are thinking about volunteering but still sitting on the fence one thing you might want to do is consider volunteering for a limited amount of time. I know it helped in my case.

We could really use an events coordinator type person. I'd be happy more than happy to work with anyone who's willing to help with this. I think it would be a pretty cool job as far as these things go. It's a real chance to help define what North American carp fishing will be for the next few years :) Think about it guys and gals :D

I'd be remiss if I didn't bump this up. Anyone who's thinking about it now would be a good time to become one. I'm here and I'm all about helping chairs to their job. Also, if you are from a state and already have a chair feel free to contact me if you think you can help out. I think multiple chairs for some of our larger states is a great idea. Feel free to send me a PM with any ideas.
