Was out today in the wind and cold and decided to try one of my favorite early season shallow water spots. I baited up the spot and proceeded to bait my hooks with a combination of Big Bob's Strawberry Maize sandwiched between two kernels of sweet corn with a small method ball of oatmeal mix up ahead packed around a small sinker. Half an hour into the session one alarm goes off. Within a couple of minutes I had my first 20 lber. of the season on the bank. I ran to the car to get the camera and set it up on the tripod for a timed shot. As the camera was taking the pic, the other rod goes off......22 lber.! This is the way the rest of the day went with rods bouncing and alarms sounding just about every few minutes. Landed 12 fish with 4 fish weighing 20-22 lbs., big fish here in RI. Had many more on, missed hits. Most of the other fish were in the 10-17 lb range. It was the best early spring outing I have ever had in this state. Pics of one of the 20's and the 22 are posted below.

Some fine catches there. Have any idea of the water temps there?
