The good times just keep rolling. Here is the lump from today. The scale said low twenties, but it seemed bigger than that!

Back to Dave's winter fishing, maybe? rolleyes.gif

Dave was kind enough to share his winter spot with me today. VERY shallow tiny pond! I had the pics in mind, and yet, when seeing the pond for real, I had a real hard time accepting that this pond could hold 20 pounders, and that they could be caught in a below freezing point kind of day! I was wrong... 20-4lb of carp to prove it...

I have to say I am impressed. Superb discovery work to find such a surprising winter honey spot!

Oh, and there are also more colorful fish in there... Look closely...

Very nice indeed!!
P.S. If you don't mind sharing, what was the choice of bait for the day? Tight Lines:Peter

To Prj...

I was using one kernel of Big Bob's Strawberry Maize sandwiched between two kernels of sweet corn (picture of bait and more details on my website at www.ricarpfishing.blogspot.com ). I was also using a small egg sinker (1/2 oz.) and I had a small oatmeal method ball packed around the sinker. I used Ace hooklink all week (sold by Wacker) and the stuff was terrific as far as hooking quality and abrasion resistance. I don't know if it was the stuff I was using or the fact that I was in the right spot. However, I used the above set up in other places this week and the success rate was very good.

Hope this helps,
Dave
