I've done some scouting in the past couple of weeks, and found a nice river spot. Well, this wasn't fully new since I had located it last year by completely other means, but never really fished it. On Friday, I fished it end of the day for a little while and was very pleased to catch a couple of fish. Today, I was better organized, chummed the spot in the morning, went for a long walk, and came back to fish two hours later.

Didn't take long for my first run. And the second one. And the third. I couldn't believe it, a new spot which works that well early April? Fish weren't that big, usually low teens, but the fourth one made my day, my first 20+ from the river. Cool.

My luck didn't stop there, and I landed a total of 12 carp in 4 hours. Including three braces like this one.

Was a good day. One of those precious few days where everything works perfect. smile.gif

Oh, and I forgot to give credit to Andy Sprinkle. His anise maize worked perfectly, fish just loved it. The rod with sweet corn produced as well, but not as productively, so at the end, I was dipping the sweet corn in the anise juice! Nice work, Andy, great bait.
