Who is planning to fish the FFF in Chicago?
Depending on the number of people, I suggest we could get together at either Lincoln, Bryn Mahr or Roscoe/Lane Tech. -------------------- Paul Pezalla

Not to hijack your thread, Paul, but I'll be legally fishing the mighty DesPlaines River in Joliet with the aforementioned anglers. No more trespassing on Water Rec. property in 50 feet wide sewage ditches for me

Not a hijack, Frank. Might as well get all the Illinois venues organized in one place.
You realize, of course, that Chicago will cough-up much bigger fish than Joliet. -------------------- Paul Pezalla

As much as I'd like to join you guys for FFF, I'll be sweating it out in San Diego for a couple of weeks while the snow piles up in my driveway!! LOL |

But I get better reception to the Hannah Montana station in Joliet and those higher quantities in Joliet add up. I'd much rather be kept awake with alarms going off every 20 minutes for 5-10 pound fish than shivering at Bryn Mawr hoping to catch a 15-20 pounder every 3 hours or so. But that's just me -------------------- PB and 2009 CAG Big Fish Award (Midwest) -- 37 lbs., 2 oz. -- Saginaw River, Saginaw/Bay City, MI (Pictured in avatar)

But that's just me Last Sunday I had 3 twenties and 3 teens in four hours from the Chicago River. That's only a fish every 40 minutes so I guess Joliet is much better. QUOTE or my new spot Would love to hit that place, Paul, if you are wiling to give out the location. -------------------- Paul Pezalla

Last Sunday I had 3 twenties and 3 teens in four hours from the Chicago River. That's only a fish every 40 minutes so I guess Joliet is much better. Well, that's quite a deviation from the seven winter leaguers fishing from the same river on the same day last week and catching 5 fish over 8 pounds in 8 hours (one 20, and two teens). Let's see, 56 hours among the 7 anglers divided by 5--that's about one fish every 11 hours. The only trouble with the Chicago River is that when you add 2 or 3 other guys bringing in the New Year at any of your BrynMawr/Northside Prep, Lincoln/Starbucks, or Roscoe/Lane Tech FFF locations, many of your teens and 20s are spooked away because your drainage ditch is only 20 feet wide. Then, your frequency of catch becomes a fish every 180 minutes, if you're lucky. So I guess Joliet IS much better! -------------------- PB and 2009 CAG Big Fish Award (Midwest) -- 37 lbs., 2 oz. -- Saginaw River, Saginaw/Bay City, MI (Pictured in avatar)
