Been playing with Excel and pivot tables... Here is one interesting table, the FFF registrations per state so far... (some registrations are quite tentative, but well, this is the list as of today)

Funny to see that northern states like IL and OH are really getting into it, while most southern states are not... Including in some southern states where there are plenty of CAG members... TX and GA, hello? rolleyes.gif

Are the southern folks more afraid of a little cold than the northern guys, or what? That would be ironic... tongue.gif

Jerome -- Shhh!! Less folks will keep the frostbite quota down to a dull roar tongue.gif Just wondering about Spain?? Having friends over there - I know it is in a State (the economy) but - you have it listed as a State here? I guess it's pretty neat having at least a couple of International nutters joining in on the FFFun laugh.gif
Cheers,
Brid.

Yeah, yeah, ONT is a province, and Spain is a country... rolleyes.gif Even if my categorization is a tad approximate, it is indeed cool to have such international participation.

One thing that I think would be very helpful to get more folks out for the FFF (especially unsuspecting newbies rolleyes.gif ) is a bit more encouragement in the way of a cold water baits/tactics tutorial. Those that fish colder waters on a regular basis could help overcome the 'Phone Stigma' and 'donate' a good few helpful tips to those considering going out and fishing the FFF.
After all - aren't we trying to get more folks out there Carping -- at any time of year?
Just some constructive thoughts,
Brid.

Well, you're welcome to initiate such "cold water fishing" threads, Brid. There was snow in CA a couple of weeks ago after all, right?

Back to stats, here is the latest... Me think some states are still strongly under represented... wink.gif

That would be the Vasilic family! Now... Hmmm... Did I miss something... Can't find a certain Mark Metzger on my list of registered participants... Nor a certain Pat Kerwin... Nor a certain Phil Saunders... Nor a certain Stewart McKenzie... Etc. Do I have to send an e-mail to Lia to kick your collective rear ends? glare.gif

Jerome,

Ignacio Arcas is thinking of participating. I'll explain the rules to him. I know he's not a US CAG member but he wants in just for the fun of it. wink.gif

Mario, this is fine, please make him register, I already have a few participants who do not qualify for the awards (e.g. not a CAG member, no witness, etc), but I will still log their results and include them in overall stats. After all, this is much more about challenging yourself to go fish on the most unlikely day of the year than to compete against others.
