every now and then a man must explore things. it starts when he is born and he explores his little world. then he becomes a young kid and explores his own self. then he becomes grown and wants to explore this big world he lives in.
well i did some exploring!!!

i decided that me and lady bird would travel to the suburbs of Hamilton, OHIO at the great miami river. it had all i was looking for. friends, food, fun and fish!!!!
now after a wakeup call of 530am to rodman and getting him to meet us for breakfast at Pearl's diner i was ready for a good 24 hour session of fishing.
i arrived back at the water around 630am and by 7am i had my rods baited and in the water. rodman shows back up and made the mistake of asking if i needed anything. WELL......................i did need a few things. more buckets and chairs and a 10x10 canopy as the rain had started to fall and as you will see later i have a hard time getting in and out of my wifes car. (my truck gets 12-13mpg and her car gets 30-32mpg. a no brainer as to what we would drive)

so rodman delivers in style

well after about 3 hours i had 3 runs but no hook ups when i finnally put this baby on the bank. my first OHIO carp!!!

then it was a waiting game. waiting on fish and friends with cameras. cindy will tell you i will forget my ass if it was not attached to my legs. i forgot the charger for the phone. so the next few fish are not avaiable. sorry.

anyway after a while the people show up and so does the cold! i have been cold before but man o man that was cold.
rodman showed back up with sloppy joes and slaw and it was OUTSTANDING!! it saved my life. then his MOM showes up and stole it from us. i tried to get it from her but she had "people" in the van that where shorter than my belt line so i had to back off. ( for those that dont understand that all i can say is come see me and i will splain it to you) well yall have seen the thread the chakram wrote and it has the pictures of the others so check it out.

well after the cops run us off and i get some sleep, rodman treats me and cindy to a exceptional breakfast and a tour at a very strange market. called Jungle Jim.

the following picture is of hot sauces from around the world. there is a bottle that cost $2000. hotness is measured in some way, i forget, but a jalopena is 750 and this bottle is 10 million!! so this is HOT STUFF!!!!

i think this was rodmans exgirlfriend or something
she loves KNIVES!!

i had a great time and cindy had a GREAT time. i was worried she would freeze and be miserable. but she was a trooper and looks forward to the trip in the spring.

boys and girls get ready as what yall saw and heard in one night was not even the tip of the ice berg of what i have to say. holding court takes a while and is worth the time.

You went to Jungle Jim's? Haha, awesome! That place is a food and bait making paradise...where else can you pick up Dutch chocolate, French truffles and live trout in one place? I haven't been there in ages.

Glad to see you had a good time.

Bird, it looks like you and the Mrs. had a great time. Those Ohio folks are one class act ! And who knew that Rodman was such a player standing in his garage looking all rico suave in his smoking jacket ! biggrin.gif

I especially enjoyed the pics of you getting in and out of the clown car; however, I must agree that 30-32 MPG these days is awesome ! Saved some serious dough.

Great write up and pics bird...

You know folks...I have heard the old saying a number of times in my life...the one that goes "when they made him they broke the mold"...well, I can tell you all with certainty, after meeting Bigbird, I truly do know what that means.

...oh yeah...I'll be at the Syndicate to share the bank with the bird once again smile.gif cool.gif
