well nothing to report of this years FFF
I didn't do any serious fishing for awhile so there was nothing to go by, on a weekend before New years I drove around few spots nothing looked good so I chose a spot on a Washington canal just because of the easy parking and you can watch your rods from the car, put some range cubes out and on Wednesday night I spread a bucket of cracked corn there was southerly wind on 31/1 switching to strong north mid day on the first and water could be high in the early morning so luckily I had my rubber boots on since there was 8-10" of water over the path on a high tide, nobody around just me and a flock of Canadian gees, I even noticed a few big swirls over the baited area but soon realized that there were few smaller ducks (not sure of the name) which found corn in 20' of muddy water and kept on diving for it all day I don't mind duck in the swim but what worried me was that there was obviously plenty of corn left after 2 days and I lost all the confidence in fish being around, Hoppy, Axel, Matt and Marlene came mid morning we wished each other Happy new year and soon I was ready to go home. new year new challenges so I decided to make some boilies and start baiting few spots, stooped at store on a way home got 3 dozen eggs and headed to my shad, and soon enough half a bucket of 16mm boilies were drying in the sack. I woke up early on the jan 2 around 6am wind was blowing very strong 20-30 miles from the north so tide will be way out and with nothing to do at home I got my boilies, and new waders from santa and headed to local river in MD to bait up for later on. There were 2-3 foot waves on the potomac and no ice so I figured I'll be OK especially with waders and low tide. Its a bit of walk to this spot 10-15min and all the way through the woods I'm thinking were and which way to spread the bait but once I cleared the trees all I could see was ice, whole ### river was frozen solid !!!! gutted or what on top of it all it seem there is no end in sight to this wind -------------------- PB's
