The cobwebs are definitely out... We were supposed to start at 10am, but they all cheated and started earlier...

So, sorry, Fran, I don't have pictures of the THREE carp that you caught while everybody else was dusting off their gear...

Participants were:
- Mike from CT
- Fran from western MA
- Scott, Vinny (and girlfriend Sarah), John, Bill, Dom, Valentin (my son) and myself from eastern MA

Kevin W. and Bob Simard stayed in their bed with their hip hurting so bad that they didn't go fishing... Do you believe this story? We don't! ph34r.gif rolleyes.gif

Here is a group picture (John missing, sorry)...

Mike Dragone with super-cool glasses... And his very first carp of the year (11.5lb).

Dom and myself thought we were very smart to not fish where the other guys were located... because we knew a special hot spot... Yeah, right, except that today the hot spot wasn't hot... Yes, this warm water discharge wasn't hot... AGAIN (remember the FFF in MA?)...

Still, Dom managed a nice fish, here it is, an 11 pounder.

Fran was undoubtedly very inspired today... After his first three carp (including a very nice mirror, but sadly, I don't have a picture handy), he caught yet another one, a nice 15 pounder.

jerome you got the story all wrong...... steve and kevin came up to the merrimack to fish today. i told them both that my hip was bothering me and if i decided to fish later in the morning that i would meet up with them. the swelling went down a bit so we fished, kev ended up with a 29 pound hawg and i with another 23#'er. i cant seem to shy away from them. check out the ACS board for my post

First fishing session for Bill as well (after the FFF in the same location), and history repeated itself, both he and I blanked... Still, Bill makes a great "weighing officer", don't you think?

John was also with us at the FFF... And again, history repeated itself and he did pretty well today, check this 9 pounder (which looked bigger!).

Now, of course, you're all wondering... what about the wizard of Oz... I have to say that to the dispair of everybody else, Scott won again... Next time, we either send him to the moon or give him a handicap of 20 pounds...

Here is the master with his winning carp of 16.75lb. Earned him a Wackerbait gift certificate!

Final results:
- Fran caught five (whoah!)
- Scott caught two (and the biggest)
- Mike caught two
- Dom, Vinny and John caught one
- Bill and Valentin and myself... no comment!

Hey, pretty good for mid-March with an ait temperature of ~42 degrees, and a rather cold "warm" water discharge. Cobwebs are out, the season is OPEN.

Thanks a lot to Fran for organizing the event and to Dom for pre-baiting the venue.

We'll do it again next year! Hopefully, Bob's hip will get better by then... biggrin.gif laugh.gif

D'oh!!
I drove by at 5, saw nobody, figured the place had about blanked, didn't even slow down! Shoulda dropped a line, but didn't bother due to the above, and the fact I had no scale, net, camera, etc, for some reason or another [cough:]Domm[cough:/]
