Folks,

I just came back from the CT fish-in, skillfully organized by Mike Dragone with reps from NY, MA and NJ converging to Candlewood lake. I will let "super writer" Mike describe the day, but here is a pointer to a Yahoo Photos gallery with the pictures I took.

Sadly, I was heavily sleeping under a tree when Mark caught the biggest of the day, a 22 pounder, I believe. So I don't have this picture...

It was a great day, a bit disturbed by careless jet-skis and bass fishermen, but overall very enjoyable, very nice scenery, very nice folks, and a great fishery. Will be back next year!

Thanks again to Mike, Chris, Val, etc who took great care of us.

Jerome..
Great pics. I just viewed them all as a slide show and it felt as if I was there.
Nice fish and location.
I had to miss this trip in order to prepare for my week long session on the St Larry starting Friday. Looks like I missed out on a great day.

I see you, Miguel, & Mike all pulled one in. Nice job guys.

Thanks for posting up and sharing. I look forward to Mikes follow up..

A few pictures from the gallery to entice you to go see it all (and go to CT whenever you can!).

Kenny's dog really liked the taste of carp slime, it couldn't stop licking the poor fish! blink.gif Ed Wagner monitoring the licking act... tongue.gif

Miguel took a nap, got some interesting sunburns on his legs and arms, yet managed to coax this nice one.

PS. Miguel, look at me next time! ph34r.gif

Mark was the "man of the day". Here he is with a nice catch, I hope somebody else will post a picture of his 22 pounder. Which was also his Personal Best!

And finally, after many hours of waiting, after a jet-ski destroyed one of my rigs and half of a spool of powerpro, after a few sunburns, YYYYYEEEESSSS, I caught my first carp from CT. Was the last one of the day, and a nice 17 pounder. It certainly made my day! smile.gif

Jerome,
Thanks for the Kudos & for posting the photo link. I too was napping due to heavy sleep deprivation while Mark Wade caught his new PB. I am sure Val has a photo he can send us. Although we didn't hammer carp all day it was most enjoyable, with great company (& food too!).

Hey Bob..
Nice to see new faces but whats going on with that fish?
Youre holding it like a shotgun and it looks like you're in search of the trigger.

What? Are you Rabbit hunting w/ a carpoon gun? Put a scope on that fish and you got a boilie burp gun.

Still a nice fish. All new guys get a little ribbing. The pic just made me laugh is all..

Congrats to Mark on his new PB and to the others that sunbathed and napped up in CT. Glad you guys had a great time - hope to come up there soon. Could have used the sunblock today as well Miguel - I am an official redneck now! laugh.gif .

What a great day!!
The sun was shining, the company was amazing, the food was terrific and the fish, well the fish were biting a little, but who cares, it was a great day!

Thank you guys and you know who you are, thank you for letting me borrow some of your tackle, you guys really set me up, thanks.

Well, I got myself a new United States PB wink.gif biggrin.gif

If I can remember correctly it was 21lb 8oz and was taken on a double tiger nut.

It was a great to meet everybody and BS. I can't wait until I get out with you guys again, and also thank you Jerome, for that first cag 20 carp pin.
