John Westbrook and myself went fishing the Brooklyne Reservoir this morning.

Arrival at 6AM, lots of signs of feeding carp, seemed pretty good! This venue is really quite nice, great scenery, the water itself, the houses and trees around this smll reservoir... And also quite a few pretty ladies running around in circle, so that you can enjoy the sight several times! rolleyes.gif

Actually, our session was quite slow (two carp for John, one for me), quality distinctly won over quantity today!

So I caught a 19lb, which should be noted as a pretty good catch, isn't it? huh.gif

Well, not quite, because John pulled out of the water a 29lb 4oz beauty. Killing his previous PB established a couple of weeks ago by a full 5 pounds... blink.gif ohmy.gif

So where will John stop this year? At this rate, the 50lb will be approximately for October... tongue.gif

Hi Guys,

Thanks to Jerome for the great photo and for fishing with me. And for all the great comments.

Jerome also caught a great 19 lber, the thing wouldn't top flapping out of the water and it took both of us to keep it subdued to get the hook out ! I thiunk Jerome hasa story on this one too.

Scott you would have been proud of me , on trying to get my other fish, the14 lb, back into the water I slipped and went into the pond above my knees. I had too booties ( boots full of water ).
Hope your back gets better soon.

Sorry you couldn't make it Chris, we'll meet up sometime.

Neil, I was using an 11 foot rod! Quite a different feeling from my 2.5 foot scooby... <_<

Oh yes, the 19 pounder story... I almost forgot!

Well, I am not sure why, but this carp was bleeding quite profusively (probably a consequence of the hard flapping). So after releasing it, there was quite some blood left on the grass where we unhooked it.

I was fussing with my gear when I heard a lady screaming "oh... GROSS". And then I saw a big poodle passing by... Its color was a bright white... a few minutes before... But now it was... pinky red? The lady gave me a very suspicious look and then went running about dirty poodly doggy... laugh.gif biggrin.gif
