As Scott described in another thread, on the m'mack river, there is this old generation of 30+ carp, but one has to be called Osmond to catch them... And there is the new, much more "hip" generation of upper teens and 20+... Which can be caught by mere mortals...

So yes, Nick and I were enjoying a beautiful day on the m'mack today. Nice foliage, and some good action, great fighting carp, it was really a great day. Here are a few pics...

I started the show with a small one, but then had a long fight with this 19.5lb beauty.

Don't even start asking about the weird hat, ok? blink.gif

I caught a few, and poor nicky was getting very frustrated. I had given him what I thought was the best spot, yet he didn't get a bite while I was having all the fun!

But finally, after a wise decision to try the other side of the island, Nick got into the action!

I don't have a good pic of the biggest of the day, a 21.5lb (looked bigger!) caught by Nick, who will undoubtedly post one very soon.

A while later, I had another good fight with an incredibly long & lean carp, which was my first twenty since Chicago. 20.5lb, to be precise. And while I was taking care of it, Nick got onto another fish!

And then I absolutely wanted to take a pic with the two of us with our respective fish. So I had to activate the timer of my camera, run, grab a non-cooperative 20 pounder and smile... Took quite a few attempts to get something more or less acceptable... blink.gif

Overall, 6 carp for me, 4 for Nick, we missed a couple more (including a screaming run at the last minute for Nick, too bad!), and this was really a great day. smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

Thank you Merrimack River... Now about this elusive 30+... It wasn't for today... But time will come... <_<

Great pics guys! Nice fish. It`s a good day when you can catch that many in the teens and 20`s.
